Hello Escapists!
I thought recently that even though I thoroughly enjoyed Fallout 3, I couldn't help fell (after 5 playthroughs) that it all felt a bit sluggish (like not being able to skip VATS kills) and slowed the pacing down. Plus all enemies are the same in terms of how they attack you. They just keep running at you until they die, or sometimes run away to hide.
Fair enough if you can only do so much during development time, but I can't help but think that if once game (Fallout 3) was merged together with the features of another game to offer a much different experience.
Prepare for a wall of text:
"Fallout 3" meets any "Modern Warfare".
Here are the changes I think might have improved it:
-Laying mines is a time consuming pain. Deploy a mine instantly (claymores with middle mouse) and you don't have to piss around with your equipment screen.
-Combat would be much more fast paced. Having to take quick aim and moving around a lot faster. The whole reason I keep playing Modern Warfare 2 is because of how intesnse most fights can be.
-Inventory would improve a lot. Forced to choose between only a few weapons instead of whatever you can carry would help keep inventory clutter down.
-Storytelling could be improved. The story in FA3 could be bypassed so easily if you just explored. Not so with proper scripting.
These are only basic ideas I can think of for the minute, but in my head, I see a game I'd always go back to rather than just a few times.
Am I a madman? Do any of you think this could work? Would Fallout 3 work better with parts of a completley different game?
Post away!
