Game killing bug in Fallout: New Vegas

Anyone else have this problem? You get back to the Lucky 38 after doing something to find that you cant talk to Victor, so theres NO way to get to your penthouse or Mr. House! As in you can no longer finish the game. Any help or thoughts?

Heres my thought: This bug was SO unneccisary! Why couldnt they just allow the player to use the elevator manually instead of talking to Victor? Thats all would have needed to happen to make sure this sort of thing didnt happen. It sucks to have 28+ hours ruined by something completely avoidable. Fallout 3 had bugs but none of them were game breakers, same with New Vegas until this happened. Argh!!

Is it possible for you to reload an old save and avoid the event? It is the most up to date version of the game?

Find out the character code for victor and spawn him.

Look it up on the Wiki under missing NPCs

Didn't run into that bug specifically, but... I did find it really annoying how it made you talk to Victor to use the elevator. :(

stop playing a game like fallout with 1 save then. It's already common knowledge it's bugged so you should get into the habit of making a save before you go into certain buildings, and another along with auto save while you're inside, that way you always have the option to redo anything inside. And you can prob kill Mr house or get yourself killed to see if victor repops. Killing house would make the elevator manual.

I had the same problem, wondering where Victor went. Thankfully, all I had to do to get around Lucky 38 was hit the elevator door.

Actually, I think he disappeared right after I...

Killed Mr. House.

Ok in order: It is the most up to date version
Im playing for x-box 360 so I cant use the computer codes.
Aethren: If you mean I made two topics for this, it was by mistake. Calm down.
Twistedheat15: Man, I had THREE saves and none of them fixed the bug. I also saved and reloaded when I was next to Victor, it didnt work. And I CANT kill Mr. House because you need to talk to Victor to get to his suite. And if I kill Victor I have the security after me, and I dont want to do that.
And Im not sure how to use the elevator manuelly since ever time I pressed it, all it made was a click and no ability to use it.

I wouldn't worry to much about security, if you can hack the computer console on the top floor and kill Mr. House I'm pretty sure the security bots stop attacking you anyways. The robots don't even hit that hard!

Still, Id much rather play the game as I was playing it, without killing the Securitrons.

This thread is a little older but I've encountered the same problem because of this:
There is a faction error. Some Vault 11 turrets and Lucky 38 securitrons seem to share the same Faction ID, which means when you kill any turret in Vault 11, Lucky 38 securitons will attack you on sight - to solve this problem: open the console, and enter this command: setally 1267AB 0001B2A4.

I fixed this but I still couldn't speak to mr, House.SPOILER: I just continued playing the game. I went to Caesar and took the Platinum chip, activated the securetrons and then you come back to the lucky 38 and then mr. house gave me the lucky 38 as my headquarters, but i still couldn't talk to him, but if you are planing to kill him like i did and go for an independant vegas, then it really doesn't matter :)

I haven't had this problem but I had to re-load an older save when I couldn't finish Fly me to the Moon.

This game's got glitches by the number,
bugs by the score,
each day I try to get somewhere
and each day it crashes more
This game's got gliches by the number,
It's a game I can't win,
'cause the quests I do stop counting
and the game picks when to end.

I read

(yeah I know you never said that, it is the title but you are OP so it's ok)

I'm buying the game for X-mas, hoping all the bug will be fixed, so soory, can't help you here... I would try using console commands to spawn him out or get to the guy's house without the elevator (like disabling gravity and flying there)

Non-game-killing resolution found:

The way I got around this bug was after clicking Victor and having no dialogue pop up, I then clicked my companion (Victoria) and selected "Talk To", and in her dialogue options, simply selected "Goodbye". After that, Victor's elevator dialogue popped up (without even clicking him again) and I was able to access the Lucky 38 floors again (and get to all my stuff)
