I don't know if you guys remember a while back, but I posted saying that I was attempting to get a gaming club at my campus going. Well good news! We are officially recognized. Seeing as we came in mid-second semester though, we don't have much time to do anything, which is NOT a good thing to me. We actually only have enough time for one tournament, which isn't to pleasing, but it's better than nothing. Now the whole premise of our tournaments is that all proceeds go to Child's Play, which should get some support right there. But the line up is essential as well.

Now not all these games will be used, but this is just a rough draft of POSSIBLE games. Please note that any games that allow for more than the specified amount of players are being system linked, not run online, hence limiting the amount of players.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I recommend throwing in some BlazBlue and SmashBros.

Got my Smash Bros, and I'm trying to keep it with games a majority of people have played. I don't know to many who know BlazBlue, but the market may be bigger than I know.

Tradition size of teams in pc fps games (ie counterstrike) is 5, btw. Though 4 is probably right for console games given split screen tradtions.

You have a good list there.

Well thank you, and I have updated the list I am keeping with the 5v5. Thank you for the information.

I recommend taking LoL off the PC list; it's horrifically imbalanced.

Why do you have 8v8 TF2? Competitive TF2 is supposed to be 6v6. If you run 8v8 it's far too spammy.

Agreed. Although I would hesitate to replace it with another FPS. Perhaps TrackMania Nations Forever?

I haven't played Team Fortress in a while, I thought it was 8v8 last time I played. Wouldn't be surprised if I had it wrong though. Fixed on the master list. As for LoL, if a large enough group of people want to play it, I'm not going to stop it. However, as I said before this is a possible game list, not the chosen games.

Thank you for the vs number correction.

@ Delusibeta: If you can tell me the amount of players that can compete I will add it to the list.

And don't forget about class restrictions. Two of every class max per team, except medic, which is one.

However, you can do 9v9 if you do a highlander, where all nine classes are represented on each team.

When you start getting into larger teams it starts hurting the group aspect. I personally don't know if I could make a 6v6 team with team fortress, and I'm sure some people will feel cheated if they lose because some person they don't know is bad at the game. I could just be not giving the number of PC gamers the respect it deserves, but I see it being a much easier thing to find a team for Call of Duty or any console game for that matter, then to find one for PC.

I'm sure we could have people sign up either as "Throw me in a team" or "I have my own team", which could work, but lets be wary of games with larger than say 6v6 for now.

I will insure that the tournament rules are upheld. Thank you for bringing that up.

Oh please, LoL is no more imbalanced than any other mmo.
It's gonna be tricky hosting a tournament with it if there aren't enough people who can decently play it, though.

Whatever. I'll still vote for a TrackMania Nations Forever contest, for whatever number of people.

How does 3v3 sound Delusibeta?

@ChocoFace: The tournament will not be just one game. Hopefully we can get enough people wanting to participate to have at least two or three per system. If we picked just one system then it would hurt the funds available to be gained from participants

As I recall, TrackMania has a team mode, so you should be OK with that.
