Game moments that made you put down the controller and say WOW

they made her perfect alright.
There are so many, but these are my favourites.
Ganon, in monster form, getting stabbed in the face by Link in Ocarina of Time.
Throwing Bowser into bombs in Mario 64. It was just so over the top that you couldn't call it anything other than awesome. Especially when you manage to do it three times in the final fight.

Going home in the helicopter in Resident Evil. The relief of finally escaping the danger is so great, especially on the harder difficulties, that finishing it will almost certainly make you put the controller down.
Dante defeating Vergil in Devil May Cry 3, and the very sad ending.
Destroying the Death Star in Rogue Squadron: Rogue Leader. That explosion was better than the one in the movies. Much, much better.
My first sight of the Netherworld in Folklore was also phenomenal. I literally just let the character stand there and watched the Faerie Realm for a while, fully rendered in perfect motion.

Batman:AA- Scarecrow levels blew me away. Didn't see them in any review/preview so they were totally unspoiled for me.
Dino Crisis for the PS1 - the gutted guy! Sure he looked like someone cut him in half and stuck a pizza in his squiggly bits but i was like 8.

Final Fantasy VII. My 'wow' moment was 'oh god, how many hours of my life did I WASTE on this game?!'
The Celestial Caves in The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night. Because it was just beautiful.
Many moments in HL2 and episodes- beating up my first fast zombie with nothing but a crowbar... well, Ravenholm in general, where you're thrown across the gap in Episode 1 (mainly in 'wow, we're alive?'), the final Strider fight in Episode 2... and there were a lot of little moments.
My biggest one was probably the time I figured out an easy way to re-route the stupid pellet in chamber 18 of Portal, though. 'Wow I can't believe it took me so long to figure that out.'
