Ive recently gotten into Hotline Miami, and I have to say, the game is amazing at putting you in the zone, it wouldnt be nearly as sucessful without this great music. This song reachs into my soul, finds something insane and brings it out screaming for blood...BLOOD....BLOOOOOOOD!!!

Ahem, anyway.... Escapididdlyapists, whats music gets you psyched and going? Upon hearing it you see visions of kicking ass and being a total badass?

Lets go somewhat back in time...

First track, Hell's Energy

Theese three are some of the most inspiring game music tracks out there for me. When I'm training my sport of the moment and hear this, it's hard do prevent myself from going berserk.

I'm just going to post my default answer.

Fuck yes.

It only really works in one setting but this music during that battle gives me goosebumps.

Dark Souls's soundtrack is odd in that, in the right circumstances, it can make you feel like an almighty badass. You are better than that insane, orchestral merging of tyrannical sounds, weaving the tapestry of your doom.[footnote]All other times, it makes you feel like a complete pussy. That is, most of the time.[/footnote]

Basically, the music is ideal to killing gigantic abominations with.

Yay! I'm early enough to post this gem from way back in the day!

(/thread (jk))

Even today, it still gets the blood flowing.

Beating up people's inner insecurities has never sounded so good.

If there is any justice in the world, Persona 5 will top this.

Also, courtesy of Dead or Alive, Helena's theme.

Halo 2, on the level Gravemind, the Master Chief is teleported to the Covenant city of High Charity, only to discover some infighting between two of the most prominent races in the Covenant. Cortana, your AI companion sees this and says, "You might consider sitting this one out.", then this song starts playing:

In Hotline Miami, there is some great music, and this one is probably my favourite out of the bunch:

For all of Assassin's Creed 3's faults, it did have a pretty cool soundtrack

War Thunder generally isn't known for its groundbreaking soundtrack, but this song does get you ready to fly into battle

PAYDAY 2 also has some pretty spectacular music going for you for when the police assault starts

There was a quasi-boss fight against an alien spaceship in Serious Sam 3: BFE that really got me going apeshit on opposing forces. Enjoy!

Generally all the halo music, some truly fantastic music in that game, probably one of the thing that makes me love the series so much ... and hate the newer games (god the music was so shite)

This one is probably my fave

Easy choise for me, although I wished I could play the game itself though:
Edit, this one counts aswell, one of the few military based series I actually like in gaming:

Gonna second One Final Effort, that was a pretty damn good song, flying in the pelicans at the beginning of one of my favourite levels in the trilogy really set the scene. Not all of the new music is shitty, well, it might not hold a candle to the original scores in 1-3, but it ain't bad (It's only really the Halo 4 stuff and the way they implemented the music in Spartan Assault that was pretty piss poor). (assuming that you are referring to every Halo game post H3).

The first game I can really remember actively loving the soundtrack to was Battletoads in Battlemaniacs on the SNES. Just about every track is full of 16-bit awesomeness, but here's the final battle music (also the bonus stage theme):

Honestly, I wish that fight was much harder than it was. The Dark Queen was never properly "Battletoads hard" in any of the games.

Not technically from a real game (it's from an album CarboHydroM made for a pretend SNES Shmup) but damn, I do love me some chiptunes.

First boss theme really does it for me, tend to listen to the whole album while I play Dota.
