Well, just completed my newest game and looking for the next challenge, I wouldn't be asking you to just recommend me a 'good' game though. I'd like a game that has a particularly long story seeing as I haven't really played a game with a deep and long storyline in a while. I have looked for one myself on the internet and found Dragonage, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy and many more but I wanted to know what you consider to be the best one.
Games I have:
Oblivion
Orange box
Modern Warfare 2
Modern Warfare
Assassins creed 2
Halo 3
Fable 2

I have checked for this on the search bar and found a couple of topics like this but none had my criteria and were also a long time ago. Sorry if this is not the case (my search wasn't particularly thorough).

EDIT: Thanks a lot guys, just bought Mass Effect 1 and fully intend to buy Mass Effect 2 now!

Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 are your best bets for recent games with deep storylines (although with ME, play the first one, then move on to 2). Alternatively, go to GoG.com and get Betrayal at Krondor for six bucks. Or Outcast or The Longest Journey for ten. Those are not console games, but if you have an Internet-capable PC, they will run on it.

Mass Effect (Both 1 and 2), Dragon Age (For the PC if that's an option), well for story go with almost anything by BioWere; if you want something.... different and you like GTA I'd say Saint's Row, if you haven't already that is, not so deep in story but a good laugh. Ummmm I'm having issues thinking of something. I sadly haven't been playing many new games because I can't get a job and have no money for games and because I'm playing older games right now like No More Heroes and Okami. A lack of a PS or Xbox makes it hard too.

If you've got a PS3, then go for Yakuza 3 and Valkyria Chronicles.
Yakuza 3's story will probablt last you 20~25 hours, and that only gets you about 15% completion. Most of the side quests are hilariously awesome too.

For the X360, I'd go for Mass Effect 2 over Dragon Age and FF13. I actually like DA:O more than ME2, but I hate playing DA:O using the console controls, so I'd suggest ME2 over that.

Fallout 3 is fantastic. With broken steel the main story alone will probably last 12 hours or so. If you do sidequests and see the sights of the wasteland you can bring a single character up to 50 hours. I have. 3 times.

I have an Xbox and a PC but prefer to play games on the Xbox, not too bothered about how old it is but preferably within 3 years. Thanks for all the posts
