Game soundtracks: what's good?

I love the soundtracks for half life and half life apposing force too and you could rip the tracks off the CD.

i thought Halo had decent and epic Soundtracks and music, to me it has one of the best out their, really catchy and recognisable in the gaming utopia we have created in the past few years

Totally agree, that game had an immense soundtrack. Weirdly enough you could also pop out your cd, put in an album, and it would start using the songs off that album instead of its own soundtrack. I can't see why anyone would want to though, you just couldn't top its original soundtrack.

Aside from ones already said like Fallout 3 and GTA: Vice City, I really like the soundtrack to Folklore, the game wasn't that great but the music was awesome in it...

World of Goo has a great soundtrack and you can download it for free. The Rez soundtrack is also excellent.

There are some that I like because they sound nice and others that I like because having them is useful for flash projects you may or may not be planning. Some of the ones I like because they're good are the BlazBlue soundtrack, the Soul Calibur 2 and 4 soundtracks, the Donkey Kong 64 soundtrack, the Professor Layton soundtracks (they're all pretty much the same anyway), and a good portion of the Phoenix Wright soundtrack.

Ones that I like for usefulness are the Brawl Soundtrack, the MvC 2 soundtrack, and the rest of the Phoenix Wright soundtrack.

Big fan of Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2's soundtracks. Also, Command & Conquer for the PS had a few great songs.
