So I see Dishonored has been widely criticised for its bland and unengaging story. My choice of words there, and I think they're accurate. The story really is bland and unengaging, and I wish more games had stories like this one. It might not be all that engaging, but at least the plot of Dishonored actually makes sense, something that seems to be highly underrated in current media. Game and movie stories alike actually go out of their own way to make huge plot holes, as if they're something to be proud of. Character motives seem to be considered something that only murder mysteries need to bother with. The "Rule of Cool" is now deployed so liberally that it's stopped being effective. So I say bring on the dull, bland, yet remarkably solid plots with characters that actually make sense. If logic means "predictability" I'm fine with that. Thoughts?
