Gamecube Problem

I bought a used gamecube last night and it worked like a charm but, it won't work this morning. I start up the gamecube and right after the intro screen it sends me to the main menu screen saying that there is no disc so I try to fix the problem by restarting and switching discs with no luck.
This leads me to believe that the lens or the spinner (I hear it stop a second before it sends me to the main menu screen. Is this normal?).

So escapists, do you know what is wrong with my gamecube?

same thing happened to my gamecube actually I never got it fixed but hopefully it helps.

Where exactly did you by the Gamecube from? if its a games store like EB, GAME etc then go back and get a refund or replacement Pre-Owned. Sounds like it had a shotty lens.

If you got from a pawn broker, tough break, might as well buy another pre-owned.

Also if you really want, save the controller, and try and buy a pre-owned Wii. They're batshit cheap now with the announcement of the WiiU and can play Gamecube games without any addition crap.
