I was on kickstarter the other day and found out about gamer gloves. They seem cool, so I decided to back the project, but i was wondering if anyone has tried out a similar product hands-on, or what you think about the concept, thanks.

Those are kind of... dumb. If your wrists and hands are hurting, get proper wrist supports, and adjust your chairs to the correct ergonomic level. Gloves are the solution to your problem; they are just masking the symptoms, if they even work as advertised.

Those are basically the exact opposite of what I'd want anyway
Rubber grip on the wrist? Really? Why would I want more friction there and a greater dependence on wrist movement?
And it doesn't look comfy at all

Not to mention, you can buy products like this at Wal-Mart in the sports department. You can even get ones where you can "pull off" the fingers. Or, at least, you could. Maybe they all vanished.

So regardless of whether it solves any issues, it's a product that doesn't need to exist.

But yes, if you've got hand problems, gloves are not the answer.

I dislike this project on principle of being discriminatory toward the left-handed. Shame on them and their parents for raising children that made such a hateful product.

Are you kidding? Half their product line is lefty, even though only 10% of gamers (max) are left-handed! This is totally discriminatory against righties!

[sub]It is?[/sub] *cough* *cough* I mean of course it is! Shame on them and their parents for raising such hateful people and pushing their left-handed agenda! We demand proportional representation for right-handed PC gamers (even though the vast, vast majority of us probably won't buy this product)!

You're right!
It'll have to get shipped in with my next crate of Mountain Dewritos, overpriced flavoured peanuts, and vaguely tinted sunglasses
Seriously though, that wrist grip thing would be garbage for playing games that require lots of sweeping mouse movements. I've seen a few Quake players with sleeves/gloves on explicitly to REDUCE friction while they aim primarily with arm movements. Arm aim in general is probably a better way to go honestly.
