I'm having a bit of a problem here. I'm a gamer and a pet owner, and both are a big part of my life. However, lately it feels like I'm not giving my dog enough of my time. Now, to be fair, I do spend plenty of time with my dog. I walk with him, play with him in my yard and he is properly cared for. I only game maybe 3-4 hours on the weekend and 1-2 on weekdays. But sometimes I feel bad cause it feels like I'm ignoring him. So, other gamers that are pet owners, do you ever feel this way or am I just being a bad owner myself?

Don't be silly, you sound like a great pet owner.
Dogs don't need constant attention so it's good to leave them alone for a few hours a day or else they'll get too attached to you and start jumping in the bath with you and following you around constantly.
He knows you're there and that's all he should need. Doesn't sound like you're neglecting him at all. You need time to yourself to game for a bit and relax.

I have cats so they're much more independent than dogs, they come to me when they want attention. Usually when I'm busy -.-' when one was a kitten he use to bite my hands and wrap himself around my wrist when I picked up a controller. You clearly know how to look after an animal so I wouldn't worry. He probably enjoys watching you, anyway.

I know it seems like I'm overacting, but I've just had him longer than I've been a gamer. He's been in my life fora little under 10 years and I only started gaming back in 2010. So sometimes it feels like I am betraying him I guess. I usually only do things that he can join in on, watching tv, going outside, ect. So now that I have something that he can't do is just worrying me a bit.
@Tizzy. I've tried that. He's way too energetic to sit in my lap or near me for any length of time without attention.

Whenever you get mad or stuck on a game pause and play with your pet for a hour or two. Then if you want to play the game one more time.
