Has anyone, here at the escapist, ever gotten angry enough while playing a game to actually throw their controller, console, etc. I never got this angry, but while playing Ninja Gaiden my brother's friend got so angry he threw his controller into his Xbox.

Just tonight I beat the hell out of my bed over Pokemon, and I'm 15 that probably beats all those times with Halo 3 as most pathetic, all the gym leaders had been easy up to the Fighting guy whose Pokemon had water absorb making my pokemon's strongest moves (all water-based) useless and who seemed to carry an unending amount of hyper potions.
The only games i cussed at were Tavsunoko VS Capcom(for Rage Quitters)
and
Fire Emblem(for the Bull that happens from time to time, EXAMPLE:My unit has a HIT of 89% and a CRT of 36%...i miss, my opponent has a hit of 13% and a CRT of 3%...they get a critical attack and kill my unit....)
But iv never thrown a controller.

Years ago, back in what feels like dinosaur times, on the amiga 500 was the original batman movie game. There was a batmobile level where in the time limit of something like 2 minutes you had to cover 50 kilometres (miles maybe) while dodging joker cars and timing your hook to make the turns. Now it was HARD so hard there was one way to beat it. Get EVERY first turn on EVERY section of road (This contradicts reality I know but that's how it worked).
I only came close to beating it once and a 0.1 km I ran out of time. I was the kind of mad that you just get up and leave. The kind of mad where there is no screaming or swearing or hitting things, just a certainty that if I ever played again and didn't succeed my heart would explode and probably level my section of the town in a firestorm of purest black, scalding hatred.

Mope, not altely, though when im rich someday, i am going to buy a laptop just to get bad at and punch the screen as hard as i can just to see how it feels.
I was getting pretty pissed at Just Cause 2 yesterday, but I have never had a problem like that. I'm pretty good at controlling my anger and unleashing it elsewhere.
I have a friend who on a regular bases will BRAKE controllers, snap games in half, and chuck systems. I once was watching him play Aromor Core 2: another age, after trying to get through a certin mission several times he took the controller by the cord and used it to swing the control full force into the floor, shattering it into pieces! He then met my dumbfounded gaze and, breathing heavily, said "I can fix it".
The only saving grace is that he only does it to his stuff. If he ever did it to somthing of mine i'd whip whole sale ass on him.

P), at most I punched my monitor. It was one of those box monitors though, now that I have a flat screen, I can't punch it =( So I just bottle my rage up.
when I was much younger I did. Now that I am buying the controllers, the games, and the systems; I tend to treat them with kid gloves.
I've seen it happen, guitar hero is the main culprit, saw someone smash their guitar into about a thousand tiny pieces and proceed to stomp the shit out it, I've almost once or twice whipped my controller, but then the logical reasonable part of brain steps in and says Whoa this isn't the be all end all get over it, and then say your wireless controller cost 60 bucks to replace
As much as I loved Persona 3, pretty much every high tension boss situation where my teammate's AI would suddenly plummet, deciding suddenly to conserve SP and ignore their powerful party wide heal to toss a medicine at me to heal me for 50 health when the boss is doing 100 damage to the entire party every turn. Deciding to ditch using their Persona abilities to score the finishing blow and instead use a normal attack which leaves it with just enough life and an extra turn to go and kill the main character.
Most of the Tartarus floor bosses made me want to snap the controller in two, but I've never thrown or broken a controller..I don't have the money. ;;
