I i'll pound the floor or toss the game case (when its empty) but i'll never toss something that's pricey like a controller or cosole... my boyfriend however has thrown my controllers several times as well as his.. now he's forced to use my pink controller that only half works and I hide the only working controller from him

Trying to catch the weather trio (Kyogre, Groudon and Rayquaza) made me feel like punching the wall several times, especially since I had all three of them on a smidget of health, asleep or frozen, and they waited to the last minute to break out of their pokeball.

Now imagine my fury when I found out I couldn't use them in the Battle Frontier (which was what I caught them for).

I have a friend who on a regular bases will BRAKE controllers, snap games in half, and chuck systems. I once was watching him play Aromor Core 2: another age, after trying to get through a certin mission several times he took the controller by the cord and used it to swing the control full force into the floor, shattering it into pieces! He then met my dumbfounded gaze and, breathing heavily, said "I can fix it".

The only saving grace is that he only does it to his stuff. If he ever did it to somthing of mine i'd whip whole sale ass on him.
It sounds like your friend has some anger issues if he does that regularly. I have never been angry enough to throw a controller myself, but I've come pretty close. Taking into account I would have to get a new controller usually helps put things in perspective.

No, being angry at sprites is something I grew out of when I broke my first Litebrite.
You make it sound like getting mad at a game is a sign of immaturity.

depends on your definition of throw. I have lobbed my controller a few feet occasionally when my internet laggs out, but ive never actually thrown it. I tend to punch things harder than my fist so that my hand suffers the damage. lol.

As much as I loved Persona 3, pretty much every high tension boss situation where my teammate's AI would suddenly plummet, deciding suddenly to conserve SP and ignore their powerful party wide heal to toss a medicine at me to heal me for 50 health when the boss is doing 100 damage to the entire party every turn. Deciding to ditch using their Persona abilities to score the finishing blow and instead use a normal attack which leaves it with just enough life and an extra turn to go and kill the main character.
Most of the Tartarus floor bosses made me want to snap the controller in two, but I've never thrown or broken a controller..I don't have the money. ;;
ah persona 3 fun game but very hard

let's see ......today i got pissed at Super Mario Sunshine's repetitive combat/gameplay.

A extremely long timed mission in GTA 3, you know the one where you have to steal a certain guy's car, strap a bomb to it, destroying it all at the perfect time within a 5 minute period without getting hit by idiot AI's.

The second boss on The foced unleashed.

the last place in littlebigplanet.

The only games that get me angry now are Top Gun, because you can't land the plane, and Street Fighter 4, because Seth is near impossible to beat on any difficulties higher than normal.
Of course, it isn't enough to throw my controller.
Seth is a cheating whore.
There. It had to be said. Because it's true.

And no, I've never chucked the ol' controller over something as silly as a game.
I don't see the point - it only makes things worse for yourself.
Cool, that guy is still unbeatable, and now you broke an analog stick and a few buttons. So now you're stuck, and out $40.

My cousin was showing me the entire game Metal Gear for NES (yes, this was a while ago), and in the final building before the main boss he fell into a trap door and died. This, in the NES game, made you re-start the game from the beginning, everything you've done is still done, you just gotta run from the very beginning. My cousin then ran at his NES, jumped into the air and dropped his heel straight down onto the machine. It still worked...you could just push the top of the console and it would click like it was a giant button. :)

And yes, I've never fully raged out on a game myself, but I made a friend leave the room after beating him at Tekken Tag Tournament 3 times in a row, the game that he claimed he was "absolutely unbeatable" at. Hwoarang FTW.

To me, it sort of is. Something that is meant to be played for fun shouldn't cause you enough anger to try and break it.
I will acquiesce that breaking something over a game is immature, but the action of getting angry itself is not. Lose enough times and you're going to get mad eventually, especially if it is because of an unfair game mechanic.

Yes I have experienced this level rage before. While playing Doom 3 on the original xbox, I had to save with no ammo or health. Every time I re-loaded the same fucking monster would kill me in one hit! After the 6th fucking time this happened I threw my controller at my xbox. It didn't even stop playing the game. It just sat there, mocking me.

There have been many moments where I've been frustrated, so much so that I've thrown a controller... but at a bed so it wouldn't break. :p

One moment that came to mind is Matriarch Benezia in Mass Effect on my first play through. Many curses were yelled. Many things were said that were never meant to be heard. It wasn't too fun.

Why do we get so excited over these things? Why do we get so angry or relieved when we play a game? I find it odd that we have such a passion for the collection of polygons that are only on a screen. Immersion is a weird thing, I guess.

That's normal. Spies are a bunch of backstabbing bastards who are likely to sleep with your mother.

Ive broke 4 gameboys, 1 gameboy advance, an Xbox, and countless controllers.
Ive also inadvertantly damaged one of my guitars (damn wireless controllers bouncing...)

And i snapped TFU. Fuck that broken game.
