Yes, us "hate missile launcher" people read the one page bill, that may be added to another bill to give more punishments for normal behavior.Matthew Lynch said:Finally, and I have said this hundreds of smegging times. This isn;t making new things illegal. The guy on VKmies link said that you can ALREADY get 5 years in the slammer for breaking copyright. Its not making anything illegal that isn;t already illegal. Has any of you hate missile launcher actually READ THE BILL?
I don't like that the US government is getting involved in selectively enforcing copyright infringement, in believing it has to protect the MPAA/RIAA's business model, in trying to prevent Netflix from improving what it can do if or when their license is up, criminalizing everything on the web that doesn't come through their channels.
I don't like the fact that ICE is using this to go after TVShack, OnSmash, Ninjavideo, or any other community website because some people are so caught up in thinking everyone is a pirate until otherwise, they can't research what's going on around the internet.
Does that sound like an accurate missile hate launcher? Is that hyperbolic enough to explain the problems with this bill, Bill S 968, the NET Act, the DMCA, and all these other bills impending on civil freedoms, or should I go into more detail?
