gamers.... divided?

this topic is confronting the fact that gamers are now divided. on one half, the multi player crowd loves COD/Battlefield, OMG SKYRIM SUKS!!!!!.

on the other side, the pretentious bastard pc/single player group who believes anything that is not skyrim sucks, or believes that pc games are instantly better, and hate on ps3/xbox games.

what do you guys/girls think?

I think gaming is divided in more than just two groups
PC/Console/MP/SP/Art/Not-Art/hardcore/casual/mainstream/Indie

But I dont think thats a problem. All the groups are big enough to warrant games that are suited for them.

I'm impartial. I like both multiplayer and single player games. Problem, stereotypes?

Am I diveded? I like playing both multiplayer and single player, I like playing on both PS3 and PC, not Xbox it sucks and drags everything down but I digress.

I love Skyrim it is in the top 3 games of this year with Battlefield 3 and Witcher 2, and all of them games are better on the PC because of the graphics and controller* (except Witcher 2 wich is better to play with a controller).

Anyway, they aren't divided, as who you mention in the OP, they are just the gobby minority who think what platform they use and what games they play matter because they're pathetic enough to need this validation in their soulless, basement dwelling lives.

Well I don't care for CoD/Battlefield nor Skyrim so I wonder where I would be.

Trying to group gamers together would be a near impossible task, there will end up being as many groups as there are people as everyone has different tastes.

There are many of us, quite probably the majority who play Skyrim on console.
There are also those who play Battlefield/COD on PC.

People will be divisive on anything, including brands of toothpaste, types of bread, or whether or not someone feels like walking o the grass. It's just a byproduct of differing opinions.

Some people do get very stupid with it. The best you can do is move on and let them destroy themselves with their own stupidity.

Observation: Will the rest of you guys lay off? If anything, the OP is talking in extremes and just so happened to list some of the more recent - and popular - as, you know, topic starters. And even then he/she's probably just going off personal observations - there's nothing (terribly) wrong with that. If you don't agree, you don't agree. No need to insult the guy/girl's integrity. Just go the fuck on, go about your previous business and pretend this never happened. It's not as hard as I'm making it sound, trust me.

I think pigeon-holing sucks. Most people out there enjoy a good mix of games, and don't hold prejudices on anyone for their choice of gaming platform. The (vocal) few who do tend to be immature, pretentious know-it-alls who are in dire need of ... ... well, y'know. The idea that gaming is some elitist club that only the favoured few can enter is just one hundred shades of bullcrap.
