This Week: What Makes? - A Good Hero/Heroine or Evil/Bad VG Character?

In your own opinion, what do you think makes a good or evil playable or NPC main character in a VG. Looks, Likability (or the opposite), VO etc..

The good guys are the ones you control and the bad guys are the ones you stomp on. There's no shortage of exceptions, but that's pretty much how it goes down.
