I don't believe I was, I didn't rant about how much I hated them I merely wanted opinions about them and to see if any hardcore gamers shared my apathy, I'm not a massive gamer so they don't seem appealing.
I use it among friends as we see who can get the biggest.tricky_tree said:Does anybody really take gamerscore seriously? I don't see the point, can you use the points to get any goodies a lá Nintendo?

Exactly. I mean, some people like me enjoy them because they give you small bragging rights and make things a bit more competative between me and my friends. If you don't like them just ignore the bloody system. It isn't that hard. If you aren't paying attention to them you probably won't be unlocking them that often.dekkarax said:Would removing gamerscore make your experience any better than simply ignoring it?
No?
Then why are you complaining?
Certain games do this still. First ones that come to mind are Mass Effect and Soul Caliber IV.TelHybrid said:I don't like gamerscore. I miss the days when accomplishing something on a game meant you unlocked something like a new weapon to play with or in the case of fighting games a new character. Not just bragging rights for virgins.
I'm in that 90%, my frined has a lot less gamerscore, but she is a hell of a lot better at Left 4 Dead than I am.DividedUnity said:Gamerscore or trophys does not dictate your skill as a gamer it just shows you can accomplish set goals either because you have alot of time (90% of the time) or you are pretty good at being able to progress through a certain game (10% of the time).
When it comes down to it you could have less than 1k gamerscore and kick someones ass in an online match time and time again no matter how much gamerscore he/she has
It revives the ancient instinct born in all gamers to "aim for the high score". It's what got people to dump entire quarter jars into pac-man. It's what got people to learn how to drive manual for racing games.tricky_tree said:Does anybody really take gamerscore seriously? I guess it comes down to the individual, some people will swear by them, some people just won't careB T A M R D said:Achievements give you more out of a game....something to go for after a game. I don't understand why people complain so much about them.
