This thread almost makes me feel guilty for my username.

Almost.

I hate the usernames that shoehorn the word "frag" into them. Fraggle, fragster, fragman, etc. It's largely died down though.

I don't actually hate these people, it's more like these names are a beacon for stupidity. I've never met someone with one of these idiotic names who was actually good at video games.

Basically everything that you guys have already mentioned plus names that indicate their country, for example: What3v3rLT and people who use Z instead of S for whatever reason. But what i hate the most are my own nicknames, i have no imagination so i always pick something shitty or if i do come up with something that i like people start pming me and confusing me with someone else, because apparently a bunch of other people have used it too.

Somebody mentioned not liking names with more than three consecutive numbers in them. It made me feel like a rebel. :D

Anyways, I hate it when people change their gamertags to a clan tag and another word, such as GCC SnipeZ (made up). It's funny when they then play a game with a clan tag setting so their name reads "[GCC] GCC SnipeZ".

About 5 of my friends have a variation of the name Fraggypoop. Though I'm sure it's just for laughs, and to see who'll take them seriously in game chat.

OT: The letters 'o' and 'i' are gaining popularity, instead of 'x' and 'z', and people who use it condemn the people who use x or z for being little kids or generic. Oh God.

Anything that you can't say out loud convincingly is a terrible username. How are you supposed to feel any character and personality coming from a person named *xxxh4rdc0r3Kn0bl1ck3rxxx* or some bullshit?
This. Definitely.
Also, as someone else stated, anyone whose username implies superiority over other players.

Man, if I ever come across another Necromancer in any MMORPG with the name DarkDeathBlood or any of its 5000 variant spellings, I will rip out my internet cable. Seriously, early days Guild Wars was so... disheartening? I can't even come up with the right word. Just this hollowness caused by disappointment in people.

Also there are things that are common on XBL where it's random adjective + random noun = username.

Like Disturbed Tomato for example. Wat?
Oh, hai. In my defense, there's a story behind my username. Not a good one, mind, but a story nonetheless. As for why other people do it: probably because it (almost) guarantees that nobody else picked that name.

i really hate people with an XX at the begging of their name. If you you can't use that username becuase somebody else took it, don't add x's to it! it's obviously unorginal and you need a different name!

I usually pick some variation of " my username sucks". But I am sad to say that m xbox gamertag has x's on both sides, but only because i got the gamertag about 6 years ago and it costs 10 dollars to change it

Hah! Somebody on the internet doesn't like my username/gamertag. NOOOOO!!!

The hate only burns the people that are doing the hating. My name(s) have always been a reference to James Patterson's novels for over a decade. And I loved his novel Double Cross. So for the last 5 or so years my names have been: Cross, XcrossX, AlexCross, DoubleCross, doublecross, XdoublecrossX, and so on.

*shrugs*

Hell. Over the past years I've had to constantly alter my name. Oh well... It has meaning to me. That's all I care about.

Also: I get to use Cross Marian as my avatar. Which I think is fitting.

Perhaps "Friends" list isn't the right term...
Awh, you made your hit-list and friend-list the same for convenience, too?

Playing WoW, names drive me insane. I wonder wtf people are thinking when they make them.

The millions of rogues in the game with dark or silent or stab in their name, the other millions of deathknights with the word death in their name. The other people who think of a name, but it's taken, so instead of thinking of a new name they put those fucking retarded letters in it.
I use the dice. Does that make me a soulless asshole...?

If I had to pick one, I'd say this guy [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view] has a pretty horrid one.

That or the ones that directly reference a game, especially when it's not the game I'm playing.
I wonder if anyone's going to fall for that this time?
Nah, they won't. Except This Person Might. Oh wait, I don't know how to post links. Darn, although it's probably for the best...

I once saw a guy on Halo named "XxA7XNIGHTMARE666xX"

Needless to say, he became my prime target.

Pretty much anything with a really obvious drug reference in it annoys the shit out of me and I have a tendency to target those people. It just seems sad and desperate bid for attention. I don't mind the XnameX thing so much partly because back in the day in chatrooms, IRC, or AIM, having x's around your name denoted straight-edgedness. Kind of funny now.
