I'll come straight out and say that I am artistically retarded, so I come to my fellow Escapists to ask for you help in designing a logo for my recently renamed review series "Games and Ammo". If anyone feels like giving it a try, I'm just looking for a banner to put at the top of my reviews that has the title "Games and Ammo" and generally looks badass with some pictures of some guns or bullets (I particularly like crossed rifles, being a Marine and all) with a total image height of 150-200 pixels and width of about 800. If anyone comes up with a suitably cool banner I will be more than happy to give you credit by posting your name as the logo designer in every review I write as well as a guarantee that when I finally snap and go on a killing spree your life will be spared. Anyways, thanks in advance to anyone who helps me out with this matter.

So far Frequen-Z has given me a couple nice looking possibilities, what do y'all think of them?

or...

Will do, thanks for helping out... I've actually got nothing to do today so my agenda is to lurk around The Escapist and watch Hulu into the wee hours of the night.

Right, I'm not sure how great these are or how much they appeal, but I've some results;

Black background

White background

Transparent background

This would be better suited towards a dark colour background, I could make the white outline black if need be. Obviously it just looks white here, but I assure you it's see-through.

I apologise for not being able to get the crossed rifles in. I couldn't find a way of them working with the text without everything looking either cramped or covered. I'm a bit of a minimalist so I understand if you'd rather something a bit more exotic but I'm sure there will be other entries to choose from if mine are unsuitable. No credit necessary if you do choose to use them.

I really love the pac-man to camouflage on the text, they're really good since I'm not looking for anything too flashy. I appreciate the work you did on them, I'll play around and see how they would fit at the top of a review.

Anyone else feel like taking a shot at it, or have any opinions on Frequen-Z's?

I can't do it, but how about a C.D. with a bullet shooting through the center hole and the the games up top and ammon at the bottom. Just throwing thoughts.

I'm terrible at makeing poster's, so how about something, like say, a Game controller with a FMJ hanging from one of the grips? with a few shotgun shells sittng next too it?

Perhaps add that with the banner's Frequen-z made?

My problem is that I don't really have any software to create these kinda images. Even if I did, like I said, I'm artistically retarded.

Your banner looks awesome, but I was wondering if there was a way for you to get the background to match the Escapist's gray, or maybe have it look like an armor plate? That plus a couple more bullet holes and it would be perfect.

Sure, when making them I didn't realise it was just for The Escapists site so I never considered the specific colour of the background. It shan't be tonight but I'll give it a crack tomorrow.

You're awesome, I didn't even realize that the forums were gray until just now.

That looks great for a banner.

I still think you need a Unit like logo, just for kicks I guess.

Like take my avatar and replace the plane with a 360 controller, the "3" and "8" with the Escapist's "E", and at the bottom where it says "Fortuna Favet Fortibus" (Fortune Favors the Strong) make it "Fortuna Favet Escapist"? Wow, I just came up with that off the top of my head and it sounds really cool... anyone with image editing software think they could do that?

The background colour should be fine, and I've added more bullet holes and some small shotgun blasts (I'm not sure how realistic they are but I could remove them if they suck)

Amazing work, this is great! Everyone can expect to see this badass new logo at the top of my articles from now on. Speaking of my articles, stay tuned for the first edition of the now far more professional looking "Games and Ammo"! I've actually been doing some construction work here recently and have not had an excess of free time, but have already begun research and image hunting for the upcoming review of:
