So I was at Wal-Mart today and I noticed odd things in game prices.
Halo 3 came out on September 25, 2007 here in America and it was $49.99.

Mirror's Edge came out on November 12, 2008 and it was $19.99

Given that Halo 3 came out a long time ago (comparitively speaking) shouldn't it have had a bigger price reduction then Mirror's Edge? I thought they'd mark down the older games before the new ones.

Here's another odd pricing thing. The game Prototype was available for PC and Xbox 360. The prices were $49.99 and $59.99 respectively. Why is the PC version $10 less?

Also I did end up getting Prototype for the PC and have had a blast with it so far.

Pc games are always cheaper than console games, not sure why though. As for the Halo 3/ Mirror's edge thing, maybe because of Halo 3´s huge popularity. Popular games tend to take longer in dropping the price.

Hmm...& just under 5 years ago, the average price for a PC game was $40.

Looking back to the early 90s, video games cost pretty much the same then as they do now.

Quit complaining, new release games in Aus are $120

Ive still seen Halo 3 going for $80-100 in most places. Electronics are really expensive for us and I dont see why. I can get a game from the UK (which as regarded as a expensive area for games) plus shipping much cheaper than a local retailer.

Consider yourself lucky that a new release costs you $50.

Activision are just greedy bastards. I will one up them, and steal MW2 from walmart.

On a serious note,
Mirrors Edge sucks, no one will buy it at 60 dollars.
Where as people will still buy halo, even at the price because its a popular game.
