Games and Replayability

Morrowind has so much replayability due to the enourmous amount of factions for each type of class and the good balance between class types (Mages can use magic for everything, Stealth classes can use their skills to do things and Combat classes can carry enough equipment to get do things)

I really think that replayability comes down to opinion. Some people will enjoy playing other games over and over while others won't.

Well, i replayed Kingdom hearts 1, 2, and 358/2 days around 5 times each, and basically gotten everything on them. I just love playing through all the levels again, especially the boss fights.

SOME FPS's have replayability for me in their multiplayer, such as Team Fortress 2 (290 hours at time of posting) and Modern Warfare (the first one). Where as some of them are dull and boring to me, like Modern Warfare 2, or any of the Halo games.

I just believe its all about personal preference.

I played through Project Sylpheed 11 times. This was back when I actually cared about achievements. I stayed up all night on the day of my graduation to do the 10th & 11th playthroughs, so I was dog-tired when accepting my diploma.

I found I could play through it so many times as it just became so fun to use the mega-nuke ultimate weapons straight away. It was cathartic, unfair destruction, but fun as hell.

Rise of Nations and Alpha Centauri never get old for me. Neither does Rome: Total War, nor Fallout 3, Tropico, Morrowind and Oblivion...hey, I just named the top 7 games (not in order) on my all-time favorites list! Imagine that!

There's only one thing that will make me replay a game, and it's simply that the game was a lot of fun the first time.

I don't care about unlockables, or branching paths, or moral choices, or any of that stuff. If a game has moral choices, I'm going to make the same ones each time. All I want is for the game to be FUN.

Certain games I've replayed plenty of times. Sometimes upwards of 20 times.

The MGS series, my 3 favourite Zelda games and Kingdom Hearts 2 are all things I've played at least 10 times each.

Obviously enough games like Civilization 5 and Sins of a Solar Empire have huge replay value. Once you have won the game on one difficulty level there's probably six or seven tougher ones waiting for you. Once you have won the game one way there are probably two or three other ways to do it. Depending on game there will be lots of content for years to come with hundreds upon hundreds of hours of game play ahead.

On the other hand I'm still playing game like Team Fortress 2 and Battlefield 1943 on Xbox Live. Nothing like a good FPS with a simple to learn yet hard to master system.

If it's a 3D zelda, expect at least 5 run throughs.
Any game that has a levelling system will get 1, and only 1 playthrough. Levelling is a total slog, unless it's a very background thing.

Most other games fall somewhere in between.

It depends on the game and the story for me mostly, as well as the gameplay. Halo 3 I will never complete again whereas games with choices than can affect gameplay are for me more likely to be played again. Or if I can make massive giblets out of my enemies
