Games bought in other countries?

I was wondering about regional restrictions on PC game. Are there any? If I buy a game in the UK will I be able to play it in Denmark?

With the insane prices here I'm thinking that's the way to go if it's possible. I'm already doing it for PS3 where I save 30-70 % on a game.

It would be nice if it was possible. I was looking into buying Mass Effect. It costs 350 DKK, or around 46?. In the UK I can order it for 32? or cheaper, depending on where I look. But the same is true for most games. I just bought Little Big Planet for 24?. It's 66? here in Denmark. It's quite depressing. How is it compared to other places I wonder?

So anyway, does pc games work regardless of where you buy them and install them? Sorry for being so noob-like, but it's been many years since I had a game worthy rig.

I never had any problems. You should be a little careful with games that require steam to activate, I know that Valve restricts at least some games locally.
If you plan to buy games in Germany, be aware that some games have localised versions without english language support (e.g. Fallout 3, Oblivion).

i got fallout collection from i think europe. it runs just fine on my american laptop.

I don't know about games but I do know that Microsoft has regional restrictions on Microsoft Points, don't buy those out of country.

I like to import DS and PC games from a canadian shop into germany. You can pay in US$ or CAN$ and that might cut the price to 2/3 or sometimes even 1/2 of the local price.

Never had any problems.

You also might try amazon.co.uk now. The weak british pound atm has to be abused.

I bought a game from Switzerland, SpellForce, and it works fine on my computer in america.

Regional Restrictions have always been a scam in the first place.

Anyone here ever played a game on a system that wasn't 'region free' with one of those region unlockers?

I've never once had an issue...not even in text formatting.
