Games Colour

Now ever since the latest generation of gaming almost (ALMOST!!! NOT ALL) games have become really dull colours grey brown, black you know mainly just boring colours

what happend ? most of the time this lack of colour is backed up with amazing gameplay
but it still is just plain annoying to see a game that has such few colours

your views ?

It's understandable in my mind that game engines if told to render excess of 2,000,000 surfaces every frame at 60fps, (Believe me, every frame renders alot, regardless where you look. A face is typically 2000 surfaces on today's gen), it has to give somewhere. In that respect, they render with less colour because black is easier to calculate than blood red.
If they stop trying to get more detail into games and start working on vividity, the problem will be solvéd.

Reality is not grey!

Even here in rainy england a 'grey' day is made up of hundreds of blues, greens and yellows, developers are just too lazy to make the effort!

I miss dayglo, that was my favourite thing about the first Halo, bright purple level and great clouds of blue/purple/red/green/orange blood sprays. Shame the covenant levels in H2 were mostly (surprise surprise) black and grey.

Thank goodness for TF2.

Well as was said earlier reality is not gray, but reality also is not what Halo or Fable 2 look like. It would be nice if developers actually tried to make something look true to life for once.

colour is good imo...after playing gears of war for 2 hours then switching to viva pinata really made my eyes hurt
