The Call of Duty series. I borrowed a friends copy of both 4 and WaW, and I have played 3, but I don't get it. It's just shallow, and sort of unbalanced online, the singleplayer is overly difficult and you have no idea what you're up against when you fight an enemy. What gun do they have? No clue.

CoD for me. I mean they are fun, I admit, but I don't see them as godly awesome games that everyone else seems to think they are.

Sonic the hedgehog and am talking about the old series.

All of my friends loved the game, but I just couldn't see the appeal.
That and just about anything JRPG. Just don't get it.

This has been done before. A LOT.

OT: I really dislike Gears of War, along with:

Halo series
Any Guitar Hero past 3

Call of Duty:World at War....it's the only game any of my friends have played since it came out. They're all addicted to it, yet I think it's kind of sketchy. The reason Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was popular was because the whole World War II theme got old after the third game, and then they went back to it in the fifth game anyway.

never could get into any of the GTA's. just not my style i guess.
That makes two of us.
Also, Burnout: Paradise, it got a ton of praise and all but I found it to be a pretty boring racing game with a very annoying radio host.
You don't like open world games or just the gta style of gaming?

I thought Burnout Paradise was really disappointing but that's because Burnout Revenge is probably my favorite car game. However Burnout Revenge was mostly a regular racing game just with the added annoyance of being in a sandbox. If it had crash junctions and a higher ratio of road rages to races, I would've loved it.
Just GTA's style. I get bored really quick if an open world game isn't fantasy or sci-fi.

I've got to agree with you on Burnout Revenge, that game is great. Plus that's mostly the main reason why I highly disliked Burnout Paradise.

Any tower-defense games. I just can't understand the appeal of it. My friends have introduced me to several different variations, but nothing seems to catch my interest.

Oh, and the so called "Horror" is about as scary as a sleeping kitten.
Spoken like someone who's never owned a somnambulist cat. They can MESS YOU UP. ;)

Ditto any game with a "moral choice" system. They seem to just be crappy excuses to have to go through the whole game twice (or more) and the moral choice is limited to "put the baby in the blender" and "tear out your own heart and shove it into the dying orphan's chest."

For now, Team Fortress 2. It might have to do with the fact that I've only played it once for 45 minutes on my friend's Steam while he was playing my copy of Plants vs. Zombies, but I wasn't overly impressed with the game.
Very few people like it immediately, it isn't really fun until you find "your" class, after which experimentation with the others becomes fun, as you now have a baseline to compare them to (i.e, my class is Scout, so I think of the other classes as variations of "it's slower than Scout, but...").

Almost all stealth games, I just don't consider staring at a screen waiting for something for minutes at a time a game, its a loading screen. Strangely enough I quite enjoyed Manhunt tho, which is considered one of the worst stealth games ever.

Most 'real world' FPSs, too, I guess while I'm a gorehound in terms of movies, and I find faked violence funny, I find it harder to enjoy gunning down 'real' looking soldiers with real faces.

I love Painkiller however, and TF2 never gets old.

The Legend of Zelda--any of them will do. I can't stand them...or perhaps Twilight Princess was a poor introduction to the series.

oooohhhh the Halo series. How I hate it.

Of course, I'm the kind of grindy person who likes the Sims and Harvest Moon. So there you go.
