Puzzle Quest is the awesomesauce. sooooooooo addictive.

If you're into the whole old-shcool jRPG thing, Magical Starsign for the DS is a STEAL for the $15 I spent on it...

Full Auto was a great racing game and it was $30 when I got it.

Fable for $20, I loved it.

Rachet and Clank Going Commando or Up Your Arsenal should be under $30 now, right?

Oh!

I missed Half Life and Half Life 2! Both amazing! I suggest Orange Box if you don't have Half Life 2, it may be $60 but it comes with 5 amazing games.

You can't go wrong with halo2. People still play the Multiplayer and the single player is ok.

Also, though I haven't played it, I've heard No One Lives Forever (PC) is a good stealth-based FPS.
It isn't all stealth. Some missions give you the choice of stealth or gunplay. There are some HARD stealth-only missions, but it's still one of the freshest, funkiest, grooviest games out there. The only one that's groovier is the sequel.

NOLF 2 does good by eliminating the stealth-only missions. It's got more of the FPS run-and-gun style, with slight RPG elements. I shall say one sentence that will make anyone who has not played this game get it:

Fighting ninjas in a trailer park with a tornado approaching.

Oh, I forgot to mention, both Max Paynes are available on Steam for about $15 US on Steam. Those are always worth a go.

Make sure it's Fable: The Lost Chapters for the PC, not Fable for XBox.

There is roughly 120% more game in the Lost Chapters version, including a pimp hat :)
would like to point out you can get lost chapters for xbox. though I had to ask for em to dig it out, it wasnt on display.

Well... technically we got fable mk 3 then :p

But yes, it is rather odd. I claim defense by being a hybrid. Maybe a rabid member of the pc gaming master race with a nervous twitch and several screws loose...

Animal Crossing, and AC:WW. GREAT Games, in my opinion, with lots of things to do (In Wild World, you can collect damn near everything in the game, from Cockroaches to Umbrellas, and you can buy several house upgrades. There's also the whole social system, and online play)

Other cheap, fun games: Haven (PS2), Jak and Daxter (PS2), Ratchet and Clank (PS2), Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando (PS2)

For Gamecube, there's Super Smash Bros. Melee, ATV Offroad Fury, Resident Evil 4, Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, and Super Mario Sunshine.

For PC, the Battlefield series is always a good decision. I prefer the 1942 Bonus Pack, which includes 3 booster packs to the original game. Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 is a great game IMO with all of its options and customizable features, and the Orange Box is 5 games in one for $60.

For the PC most games become under $20 within a year or two. I picked up Swat 4 and its expansion for $6 each at Big Lots, Aliens Versus Predator 2 is usually available for $10, COD2 for $20, COD & its expansion often $10, Psychonauts for $20, Prey for $15... It just goes on and on. Plus many of these actually look better after a couple of years if your system isn't up to date, as a bargain basement PC is typically a high-end PC from two or three years ago.

There's something wrong when a game gets released on the XBox, gets RE-released on PC, only to have the PC version re-re-released back onto the XBox... Man I'm glad to be part of the PC Gaming master race :D
Me mother was a console gamer and me father was PC gamer! I am a mutt! A mix of tainted blood! I'm a monster!

Kill... me... Please... Kill... Me...

This is going to turn into a cult fiction at this rate... a post-apocolyptic Earth, with three warring factions; The Consolists, tribal, hyperactive violent types who are incapable of talking quietly and are always denting each other's heads over which of their deities is superior; computerites, an arrogant bunch of slower paced, tactical thinkers who perfer to talk via keyboards and voice generators; and the hybrids, hideous mutants of both races, with flaws and advantages from both, exiled from their homes, who've banded together for survival. I ought to copyrite this stuff...
