Politicans say what needs be said to keep them in their highest possible payroll.
And that means not blaming the peoplw who elect them, and that means there never ever is a problem with Parents with no initiative.

I'm not one for the search button police but...
There have been literally millions of these threads! MILLIONS!

And they call come to the same conclusion.

But on topic: While it could be argued that games reinforce in the mind that violence = good, this is likely as in most cultures we're constantly told to be nice and share, thus empowering in our minds that violence is a bad thing and eating hobos is not only unhygenic but also unethical.

Besides, the games are violent so we don't have to be.

I think the best game is "Moonwalker" which featured Michael Jackson. It has a little violence but it's overall good message of saving little kids helped negate that.

Now we don't have Michael Jackson with us anymore.

I don't think I have anything to worry about.
I don't plan on murdering anyone other than possibly Micheal Atkinson.

The only games that would make someone violent are the really aggravating twitch-fest killoramas, as opposed to the ones based around a Singleplayer storyline.
Actually:
They should conduct a comparison between a person playing a violent game, that is singleplayer and story driven, and one that is an intensely competitive online multiplayer experience.

Games made Michael Jackson hold that baby over the balcony. Now look what happened to him.

I agree that the idea of blaming video games for everything that goes wrong in the world asinine. They just want a scapegoat that they can blame instead of having to admit that they did a horrible job raising their kid, or are just lousy at their job to prevent crime.

Just remember that people have been bloody violent for thousands of years, long before anyone even thought the words "video games".

These proves a good incite:

This is a gaming site.

That's all I need to say, I think.
This.
Why would anyone here, on a gaming site, blame video games?
..........Or it could be because it's obvious that the actual reason is terrible parenting.
I'd go with the latter. You could always go half and half though. Maybe its a bad choice to give a kid a game that will make him turn into a killer. Maybe the person in question is mentally unstable, but the parent doesn't bother considering that.

If games made people violent, don't you think that we, and every other game site would secretly be planning acts that reflect said violent tendancies and behaviour? We could probably create a situation on a level equal to 9/11 if all of us felt, thought, and behaved like the murderers or criminals that apparently commits crimes because of games. But we dont. GameFAQs might though.

Gotta love how no one bothers to consider just banning guns or something that would solve SO many more problems, in addition to the ones at hand.

Why not BAN SCHOOL SO SCHOOL SHOOTINGS DON'T HAPPEN! GUYS? GUYS?

Banning games is about as ridiculous of an idea as the above...

Banning guns won't stop shootings.

Although I'm not sure if you were joking, its always hard to notice sarcasm in words

I agree with the posters above me. I enjoy video games because they help take alot of stress off me. It's a good place to vent.
