Hello all of you. After reading the very interesting article called "Forbidden Love?" by Barry White i was feeling quite loved up and decided that i would post a recent experience i had had with a girl in town.

So, just a little background, i used to be in a band and at one gig i met a very lovely girl who i immediately gave my phone and told her to put her number on my phone, thats how i used to roll /facepalm. So after around half a year, i'm a uni student and barely get any time home, i finally met up with her and went out for a drink. She knew all about me and i knew all about her, y'know the basics, but i never told her about how much of an avid gamer i was. (Some of you might have seen in previous threads that i'm not the nicest guy when it comes to games and their designers)
As the day turned to night i ended up at her house just laying on her bed and she suddenly exclaimed that she had something for me. She got up and picked up her bag but dropped a whole load of things on the floor, one of which being a Nintendo DS.
I, trying to act as cool as possible, questioned why she had a Ds and what games she had. Ironically she first started saying things like Brain Training, Nintendogs and Cooking mama but then it slowly started getting better. She started saying real games, well games that i like, such as Animal Crossing, Mario DS and Mariokart.
It was unbelievable! I couldn't believe that this girl was into some of the same games i was into. So as she saw how amazed i was we started talking about games on the DS and she started bringing games like Final Fantasy for the PS2 and even Parappa the Rappa, what a brilliant game, out from her cupboard.
So the next day, yes the next day, i went over there with my DS fully charged and i asked her for a game on MarioKart. As i turned on my DS it went to my R4, little cartridge thingy, desktop screen and there was my WoW character background on the front. She lent over to see what i was doing and she yelled "YOU PLAY WOW?! WHAT SERVER?!". I literally jumped off the bed, yes i was that shocked, and just looked at her in astonishment.
Long story short, even though that was a long story, we spent the rest of our time together on that day playing MarioKart DS and going to each others towns in Animal Crossing :)

Now i know you're probably all either mocking me or thinking back to a same sort of experience.
I urge you to share with us because it is Valentines day tomorrow and it would be really nice to see if other people have been as shocked as i was.

Thanks.

P.s. We're together, we play WoW on a new server and i'm still better than her at MarioKart even though i let her win from time to time.

That's pretty damn awesome, man. Congrats!

Me, I've never had a gaming-related romantic experience. One girl I've dated wasn't to into games, and the girl I'm dating now jokes about forcing me to quit WoW =P but hey, good for you.

Why are people so shocked when they see a guy and a girl gaming together? XD
My boyfriend and I game all the time, it's what's keeping our relationship strong. I also go to my boy mates house every now and then and play on his XBox.
Even at school, I always play Guitar Hero on a lads DS.
