Bayonetta.

And that game is is actually good!
Bayonetta is not at all like Wet. Wet on the other hand is similar to Stranglehold which is in turn similar to Max Payne.

That said, Bayonetta is actually quite a good game.
run around doing ridiculous combat manovures, shooting bad guys and racking up crazy scores/comboes.
How is that not at all like WET. Yes I get your point and they are different games in the way you play them, but as soon as I saw that part of the post I thought "Bayonetta." Fair?

I'd honestly recommend anything that ISN'T WET. That game was a huge letdown and I think Eliza Dushku needs to work harder to stop being type-cast.

Well, there is the sequel to Total Overdose that no one knows about called Chili Con Carnage for the PSP. Not really a sequel, more like completely different story line but with a few of the same characters.

Vanquish. Vanquish. Vanquish. It has guns, slow-mo, and sliding. It's a shooter that plays like an action game.

Bayonetta is awesome but it's a beat'em up so it doesn't really play much like Stranglehold or Wet, which are shooters. Anyways, give Bayonetta a try, it's awesome.
Funny thing is that Bayonetta and Vanquish are both made by Platinum Games + SEGA.

Another interesting fact: unlike WET, Bayonetta and Vanquish are actually great games.

I'm buying Vanquish off eBay this week. Just gotta wait for my damn PayPal payment to go through.....
Yeah, Platinum Games are one hell of a developer, 2010 was the year of Platinum Games to me since the year was pretty disappointing outside of Bayonetta and Vanquish. Shinji Mikami, director of Vanquish, is leaving (or has left) the studio though. Hopefully, there's a game coming from Platinum this year.

Does Dead to Rights fit the criteria? I've never played those games but IIRC they got decent to good reviews. They're probably really cheap now.

I'm probably in a minority, but I really liked the Club, it was a proper arcade style shooter.

you hada a time limit to kill a certain number of people, with a timer counting down to losing your multiplier, and bonus points for headshots, distance shots, etc.

Didn't do great in reviews, but I personally enjoyed it and you can probably pick it up for a fiver now.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I probably should have mentioned that I've already played and loved the Max Payne's. Enter the Matrix and the Path of Neo were pretty lackluser in my opinion.

Vanquish sounds pretty interesting, I give it a look.

@SenseOfTumour - Holy Shit, someone else who liked the Club! I though that game was mad fun, quite underrated.

Vanquish was one of the greatest short games I've ever played. It's maybe 6-7 hours long, but it's extremely good all throughout. Just the amount of insane and awesome things you can do is simply staggering.

Which is the best Devil May Cry (and one that's available for PC)?
Devil May Cry 3 is regarded as the best of the series, but they're all supposed to be good apart from 2. Only 3 and 4 are on PC, but I hear the PC version of 3 is an abysmal buggy mess of a port.
