There are just so many great games coming out this year that it seems inevitable that some absolute gems of games will just not sell well at all because of the mega giants like cod and halo and of course skyrim. I personaly think that dark souls will be one of those games but what do you guys think?

Dark Souls, much like Demon's Souls, will be a dark horse.

Everyone who liked Demon's Souls will buy Dark Souls, and the people who were interested in Demon's Souls but lacked a PS3 will buy it because it's on the 360 as well.

I don't think Dead Island or Rage will do as well as they hope.

I feel like Rage might be overlooked due to the vast amount of shooters coming out, and I think Battlefield 3 will probably get annihilated by MW3 on console but do very well on PC.

Skyrim will be fine. However, I think Battlefield 3 should wait another month to come out. By then, people will have gotten bored with MW3 and they'll find Battlefield 3 to be a great game.

Goldeneye Reloaded, most people will just think of it as a movie game, and not get it... then sadly it will completely die from MW3

Well battlefield comes out a month before mw3 does so I think it will do fine but yeah I agree with what people have been saying about rage, I remember Bering realy interested in it about a year ago but now there are just so many other games that grab my attention, I mean lets face it everyone who buys skyrim isn't going to even touch another game for at least a month lolz

This. I'm pretty sure Goldeneye Reloaded will be good fun, and better than MW3 if only for the fact its James Bond. But tons of good games will be overshadowed by MW3, like Rage and Driver.

Red Dead Redemption crashed every time I tried to play it.
It kind of became my own personal enemy, I know compare it to Superman 64, left a bad glitchy unfinished impression on me.
Edit: oh, you should have said bomb instead of crash.
I have high hopes for Cathrine but i have a sneaky suspension that it might sell poorly, which is sad. I like weird games.

I'm not sure how likely it is to "crash" but I'm worried for Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I mean... I dont mean to sound like an old man here but a lot of the people excited for it will be because they have played the old ones and from personal experience, a lot of people I've spoken to have no idea what Deus Ex is, although broad generalisation there and it might just be my particular social circle.

Its a tricky situation, theres selling it on its name alone, bringing in old time fans, and trying to sell it to people who may have never heard of it.

I mean ok the first was only released back in 2000, so only 11 years old but when you think about it this way, with the majority of gamers these sort of games are marketed at, the 16-25 year old ish bracked (broad generalisation for examples sake, dont tear me a new one over that), the lower end would have only been 5 or 6 when it first came out and even the latter half were only 14-15, so just in the age bracket to play it.

I dunno I'm excited for it and its a deffinate purchase for me, I'm just concerned how well it will do in the market as a whole, I'm hoping I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Also completely unrelated, yay 400th post
