Games that are actually multi-linear

I'm not as much of an avid gamer as I claim to be, so maybe I'm just out of the loop, but how many games are actually multi-linear? How many games can actually be played in such a way, that two people playing the game can experience completely different stories and levels, and when they talk about their favorite sequences, it turns out neither of them experienced any of the same levels except for the first one?

It doesn't have to be that multi-linear, but you get what I'm talking about right? How many games are actually like that or close to that?

I don't think any have that degree of difference, but games, like free roamers, do give people a chance to play a whole variety of missions, sometimes affecting the game world.

I found Dragon Age: Origins to have a lot of options... Althought I'm not finished yet and have no friends who own it. It has multiple paths that it would take quite a while to find the outcome of every different set of choices.

A fair few games just have different endings, i dont think any games have completley different story lines through the entire game.

Heavy Rain is a damn good example of multi-linear.

Most of the time its just little differences, but sometimes you find out someone completed a scene in a way you never would have thought of.

Its really pretty cool.

What about games that have no end, like X3:TC?
Well, it has a story that ends, but the game is so much more than the completely skippable plot.
