I don't just mean games that are anime like the naruto games although if you know of any good ones please say.

You really can't go wrong with any main Tales title except the GBA Phantasia remake.

There was a very entertaining hack/slash game for the PS2 based on the anime/manga Berserk. It takes place after the anime, featuring the armor, weapons, companions, and scenarios from later in the storyline as can only be experienced in the manga. If you have read the manga you will certainly enjoy reenacting a lot of the epic boss fights. Plus it is remarkably entertaining to dismember, behead, explode, impale, and otherwise annihilate hordes of grunts sending their cleaved-in-two bodies into the air where you will usually further dismember them on the back-swing with your awesomely gigantic sword.

Aside from the sword you also get a arm-cannon, throwing knives, mini-bombs, an automatic crossbow, as well as a few spells from your companions. All of your side weapons and spells have a set cool-down time but infinite ammo so they don't distract from the sword-work, while avoiding the annoyances of looking for ammo and the feeling reluctant about using your more overpowered weapons on grunts.

Unfortunately it was never released in the US so you will either need a modchip, a boot CD, or a Japanese ps2 to play it. It is also only available in the Japanese language for the same reason. This isn't much of a problem though since the main menu is in English anyway and the very simple upgrade menu has been translated and can be looked up on the internet.

So, If you have seen any Berserk related material and have the equipment to play it, this game will provide you with a very entertaining experience, and the gameplay is solid enough that it would probably be fun even if you aren't familiar with the berserk universe.
