Here is what I don't like about the quick time events in Fahrenheit and most other games that use this mechanic: I can't concentrate on the cool sequences that happen in the background (like Kratos ripping some freaks apart or the guy from Fahrenheit dodging bullets etc.) because I have to wait for the next button to press and I better not miss it because of sudden insta-death. So whenever a quick time events starts, I usually miss what's going on.
How so? As far as I remember the QTE parts came first and then came the actual action, As in that office level I spoke of, First a monster appears, then you push both sticks right, then he jumps right.
No: http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=v_MLnryT46g&feature=related

Action and button's to press at the same time.
I stand corrected, But then again I guess not everyone posses the multitasking 2.0 brain implant. Cause I could both play and enjoy those sequences.

The problem with quick-time sequences starts when the developers decide that QTs are going to be what makes the combat in their game "challenging". This usually manifests in giving the player a timespan of 3 frames to hit the correct button. This is bad, unfun and plain poor design...

Resident Evil 4. That knife fight with Krasuer was awesome. I don't know if No More Heroes counts as quick time, but maybe for the wrestling moves.
I concur, the knife fight actually made me feel like a bad ass, and the actual fight with Krauser as well gave me a stiffy.
resident evil 4 employed it well enough during that fight that you did feel like it was part of Leon's range of abilities.

damn it, i'm gonna have to get the gamecube out now.

Bourne Conspiracy did them amazing. You had them just about every other need for a button press and they weren't a pain to do either
