Mass Effect 2. A mediocre game that got tons of awards for no apparent reason. Well, in hindsight, there wasn't much out that year anyway. Still, when people say it's the best game ever made, I wonder if they have played a good game in their lives.
People, differing tastes, etc, you get the idea. My personal favorite game, not saying it's the best game ever made, but it's the one I've enjoyed the most. That last sentence really doesn't help your case, just makes you sound like a snob.

OT: Crackdown 2. The original was a goddam great game. GTA with super powers and an awesome boss fighting/gang system that I've yet to see another game match.

The sequel? Replace all three of the fun unique gangs from the first game with one boring one, put more emphasis on the boring to fight zombies, copy-pasta the exact same map from the first game, and make the entire game composed of nothing but the same exact two missions rinse and repeat, and take out all of the fun boss fights. They literally had to put effort into making it this bad of a game.

Recently, Dragon Age 2 and Black Ops. I've complained enough about both of them, but, in short, DA2 was rushed and poorly made, and Black Ops was simply bad, with crappy multiplayer design and a single player that was even worse.

just off the top of my head

fallout 3: i found the story utterly boring, plot fairly predictable,it was plain ugly the art style was drab, no scene of atmosphere, fetch quests galore

mario and luigi parteners in time: i liked this game, but it just didnt live up to the epicness that was mario and luigi super star saga, i also found the babys to be gimiky

scott pilgrim vs the world: by this i am talking about the movie, i found it to be avaerage, barley video game related, unfunny, and the characters were essentialy cardboard cut outs qith almost no personalety besides some of the eveil exs. also most of the battles sucked. wayy to much hype.

im sure there are more but i cant think of them

Reading these comments, I have found that I am incredibly easy to please when it comes to video games! Haha!
But if I had to pick one that really disappointed me, it would be Fable 3.

Empire Total War disappointed me greatly. There were far, far too many bugs for the amount of praise it got.

Shogun 2 also disappointed me some, but not as much. The battle UI was too similar colored and everywhere across the screen, which made the game unplayable for me.

DA2, it's one quarter of the game DA:O is for the same price, so fuck you EA, fuck you in your puckered hungry little anus.

kotor. i get a LOT of hate for this but i played it last year for the first time. i had heard such amazing things about it and it fell short of my expectations on pretty much every level

dragon age:eek:rigins. i was expecting an experience on par with baldur's gate. what i got was a somewhat generic fantasy rpg with some entertaining dialog. most of the origin stories were pretty well done though

Brink, it was an unplayable mess on PC at release and not much has changed. I mean come on having to use console commands to stay on a server without being kicked. Obscene screen flickering due to my ATi card and of course lets not forget the "free running" that is useful on ONE map. Seriously worst £30 I ever spent.

Oh also Dark Sector, the first E3 trailer promised a PS3 launch title with a robot ninja in space! HOW did it turn into a bland third person shooter with a f*****g frisbee?

The Witcher 2. I was really excited for this game and I wasn't impressed at all once I played it.

Dragon Age 2 left everything that was good about Dragon Age Origins behind and introduced new mechanics and ideas that didn't fit into the game and didn't work.

I bought RE 5 to see what all the fuss was about. It didn't so much dissapoint me as I wanted to obliterate the fucking thing with a orbital strike. The controls are complete shit, and the story is even shittier. I hear people say, "The game doesn't let you aim and move because it makes it more challenging, the control scheme just heightens the difficulty" When did it become about the fucking controls and not the enemies in the game itself?! Seriously!
You had issues with the controls? What was the big deal...? I played the game all the time and the controls are A-ok. In fact they're pretty much copy-paste from RE4, which from a control standpoint was perfectly fine. The only thing a little eh was the inventory system but as long as you put the items to shortcuts on the D-Pad it was fine. And helped the flow a little what with not having to press start constantly. (Don't get me wrong though, I still love the Attache Case.)

You could argue that KOTOR had basically the same gameplay, but I liked the complexity of the battle system in KOTOR as opposed to pressing 3 buttons of interchangeable attacks and spells.
while i do feel the combat of dragon age was too simplistic, i felt like it was more complex than kotor. in dragon age i would at least have to change strategies from time to time. in kotor i literally just spammed flurry until all the enemies were dead. then again, i played dragon age on pc, i heard dragon age was significantly better on pc than on consoles

Any of Sid Meier's work from the last five years or so. Civilization IV and V were terrible, the hexagon square system really doesn't work.

And don't get me started on Spore...

The Force Unleashed 2.

It was a little bit like the first time you have sex: You really enjoy it, but it's done in under a minute, elongated only by repetitive quicktime events...press X, press X, press X.......
