Ever had a game you really liked but everybody else forgot.

Mine:
Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts 360
Great game. I love the vehicle building. And the game looks so amazing and colorful. Love it.

Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom PS2/GC/Xbox
Solid and really funny platformer.

Gitaroo Man PS2
Words can not describe, except "Really fun cluster*&^@"!

I remember that game, I borrowed it of a mate, who can only be described as a Spongeaholic. Mine would have to be Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure, just an amazing game.

Oh I dont even know where to start.

Diggles: The Myth of Fenris - really good RTS for exploration and development, It takes hours, maybe days to get on top of tech tree and you are in underground world which generates as you dig. Graphic was pretty bad even for 2002, especially animation. Sound and voiceactiong wasnt good either but really good music and nice looking, endless underground created perfect atmosphere and epic feeling.

Gothic 1/2/3 - The games looked great, combat is much about skill and leveling was good and simple. Games (mainly Gothic 2 with expansion pack) was really difficult. Overall games had good gameplay, good story, they looked and souded nice, there is lot of mods for them. Their biggest flaws were bugs and gliches (mainly in 3rd game which is alredy repaired by huge community patch). Gothic 3 is even by fans considered to be weakest of the series, yet it almost won GOTY award instead of oblivion (It ended up on 2nd place but that was before patches).

Arx Fatalis - This was decent RPG but what really makes it shine in my eyes is that it had some things that lots of games dont. Mainly secrets on every corner. Hidden passages, destroyable walls and such which made good atmosphere of game even better.

Prince of Persia 3D - It wasnt THAT bad. Everyone who have seen Yahtzees PoP retrospective knows about flaws but game also had nice level design, atmospfere and gameplay was like classic PoP games which, of course, wasnt enough by the time when it came out.

Keepsake - Good looking game with decent story and good puzzles. It isnt best adventure game but is still think that 6/10 rating was pretty low.

All these games were forgotten due to their more visiable flaws but under those there was a golden core. Witch for me is mainly overall atmosphere of the game.

Sorry for possible grammar flaws.
EDIT:comments to games

Myst and Riven. Those were interesting and I really liked to explore the strange and decaying worlds that it had.

Legend of Mana. No one ever talks about this game any more, but it's sooooo much fun!

I found Myst so dang hard... but i was 8 at the time. I think a playthrough now that im more mature might be interesting though.

For me i would say Startopia... what an awesome little game with tons of potential that just didnt cut the mustard sales wise.

For me, Sky Odyssey wins by a country mile.

Also, does anyone here remember Silent Bomber for the PS1? It's a bit obscure so it may be that nobodys ever heard of it, rather than forgot it.

Otogi: Myth of Demons.

True, I mention this one a lot but seriously for a beautifully put together artistic hack and slash game it really does annoy me that it only got one sequel then fell off the radar considering its the only hack and slash game that I ever really got into.
Regardless, great music and art direction that made it feel like a painting come to life and a heavy shadowing of shinto themes made it feel very authentic.
It was damned good. Too bad it had to be released at a bad time what with all the other games out at the time.

Shinobi for PS2. Maybe it's better known outside of Holland, but nobody knows what I'm talking about when I say I want a real sequel (Nightshade was horribly inferior). Even the guy at the local vg store whose favourite genre is action has never heard of it. Seriously, wtf? It was an awesome game.

Warzone!

Honestly, it is free... and it works better than many big name releases I've seen... and it's just so much FUN designing your own tanks and stuff... and the whole RTS thing is solid, and pretty enough... and any computer can run it...

And no one knows of it. Sigh.

Oh I haven't forgotten Myst, and I won't forgive it for killing adventure games either.

Nobody remembers Privateer any more! Or Elite! Or even X3!

What is it with space sims becoming really obscure?
Agreed, I blame consoles, no real reason, I guess the controls suck for flying games and who's going to make a PC exclusive game that isn't a MMO? Shut up Crytek, no-one asked you.

Also, nobody seems to remember Contra much, or the old SCUMM games by Lucasarts. I'm sure there's people on here who do, but most seem to have forgotten them.
No-one who played Day of the Tentacle, Sam and Max Hit the Road, Full Throttle, or Grim Fandango has forgotten them. Contra, I never cared for it.
