Maybe (and this is a huge "maybe") Metal Gear Solid 2 changed me a bit. If I recall, it was one of the first things that influenced me into questioning reality and my own perceptions, which is something I still do to this day, except it doesn't feel like a foreign concept anymore.

A lot of games have changed who I am, because they've been a large aspect of my life since I was a kid.

Final Fantasy VII is the obvious one. Aside from the fact that it's probably partially responsible for turning me into a dirty hippie environmentalist, it was also one of the first stories I'd encountered that taught me about death (I was seven when I was playing it, and hadn't experienced any death in my life). And, beyond that, it was the first time I ever wondered about concepts like identity - "Who am I? Are we just what we believe?" Yeah, even as a kid I was a real nerd. I thought about weird stuff. XD

StarCraft also had a big impact on me. I was playing it when I was about eight or nine, and, from that moment on, I fell in love with outer-space. I'm not kidding that, when adults asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, my response was, "An inter-planetary anthropologist." That was my dream job in 3rd grade. =3 Unfortunately, the fact that we haven't discovered alien life kind of puts a damper on that. <_<

No, seriously, I don't think I could list all the games that have changed me in some way. I like to approach everything with the attitude that it will help me learn and grow. ^ ^

I am sure no one has ever heard of it, but Stay Tooned! (A point and click adventure game for the Mac) was probably the most influential to me.

The game was supposed to fake being buggy. (With fake script errors pop ups and system crashes) That got my curious on how computers work and help start my passion for the computer.

Believe it or not, when I was 6 years old, I got Ocarina of Time, and I have been a gamer ever since!

Believe it or not, Halo. Halo was the first game I ever played that really had a great story: it opened my eyes to the fact that video games can tell stories just like books or movies. Of course since then I've seen better examples (Final Fantasy series, Bioshock, etc.), but Halo still stands out as the first game that opened my eyes to that. Now video games as literature is my passion in life, something I want to be involved in from now on.

Assassin's Creed. This might seem unusual, but it taught me a few lessons about human morality and what people will do for what they think is right.
I don't know, it kinda makes sense. Just be careful not to take it too seriously, lest you become a ridiculous conspiracy theorist.

For me it was Fallout 2 i was a normal geek before it. then i became a cynical geek such is its power of greatness. I still remember the event of me buying it, i was at the Local EB store when picked it up and the guy next to me said to me "That's a good game you should buy it". Which i did and never looked back

Final Fantasy VII.

Got me into adventure gaming and, weirdly, got me to read books.
It's actually not that odd. A lot of games have a considerable amount of reading. Planescape: Torment is famous for having an entire novel.

The Metal Gear Solid series, since they made me appreciate storytelling in a game and prompted me to think about some pretty heady subjects like patriotism, war, genetics, fate, sociology, and so on and so forth.
Quoting this because i feel the same but also

FFVII - Helped me realise it's important to know who you really are and what you stand for in order to face whatever life throws at you, it also hooked me on RPGs.

I think games didn't change me but show me time and time again who I am.
The last experience in this direction were

Lost Odyssey (especially the written stories),
Condemned 1 (made me realize how well psychological horror works for me)
and Planescape: Torment (it's an overlooked, mature masterpiece)

Metal Gear Solid 4.

Big Boss: "Boss... you were right. It's not about changing the world. It's about doing our best to leave the world... the way it is. It's about respecting the will of others, and believing in your own."

That line stayed with me.

I was talking about other people's ethics, not my own. I'm referring to how important control is to some.
