Games that made you want to go outside

Good afternoon Escapees! I had a question that, to my knowledge, has never been asked before on these forums... have you ever played a game that made going somewhere new an appealing prospect? What games have you played that made you want to get out there into the world and do something you've never done?

And no, not from just plain sucking. The game you mention has to be at least moderately good.
I'm not letting you off that easily!

I do get out plenty at the moment, but Mirror's Edge got me back into free running.

This is the kind of answer I'm looking for. I'll give my own example, since that seems to be part of the problem here. Mine is Shadow of the Colossus. It made me want to go find things to climb, and birthed an obsession with ancient ruins. I want to see some famous ruins in different places, and I'm already making plans.

And no, I'm not saying you guys don't go outside. (Even if some of you don't.)

I could make a joke and say how timesplitters 2 wanted me to go outside to the aztec ruins and shoot explosive-fruit chucking monkeys, but i'll pass up on that one.

It can't be because the game sucked.
It would be silly if you did it to tell people about it, the internet is a hundred times easier for that.
Nobody listens to the Wii warnings asking if you're not feeling like a nice break.

If not for that condition I'd say Final Fantasy VIII, but if that's the case...
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 - It got me so pumped up on skateboarding, I went out, took my cousins skateboard, fell on my face few times, peeled off my knees and gave up.

I think we all missed the point slightly...
Yet i agree, even if a game did send me outside for a few minutes, the sheer intensity of a dull, winters morning sun sent me cannonballing back into my living room to boot the 360 up again.

Uhm.. interesting question. FarCry 2 had some pretty phenomenal landscapes, unfortunately I live in fuckin' FINLAND. But still, it made me go outside to look at the pretty graphics to remind me of what it was trying to recreate.ish.

Quite a few games although I guess wanting to outside to smoke is less about wanting to go outside and more about being hot in a stuffy room and enjoying a cold autumns night and filling my lungs with eveything but fresh air. I guess Diablo not because it sucked but mostly because I had sat infront of my computer for way to damn long and decided I should go outside to know if in fact I was still alive.

Personally, this hasn't happened to me, but that's only because I never got a copy of Boktai for the GBA. For the most part, I play indoors, unless I have to go somewhere else in real life.

What I'm asking is, did you ever get enthused to go out and do something based on events in a video game; that is, did the video game make you excited to do something you hadn't done or go somewhere you hadn't gone?
