Tanks. The original one on the N64. Most awesome game ever.

I remember blowing up buildings with nukes on the 8 bit tank.

OMG I forgot Battletanks,

Billy Hatcher and the giant egg.

Both games that were vital to my childhood.

-Iron Tank (NES): Surprisingly good, can be fairly difficult.
-Legend of Mana
-Starsiege Tribes (well, nobody really talks about it today, and I haven't seen any serious discussion about it in years)
-Ice and Fire (One of the oddest sort of games I've ever played. It was made by the creator of Tetris, IIRC)
Tribes was my first FPS. And boy was it amazing. Tribes 2 is free online now...

One of my favorite RPGs, Legend of Gaia for the SNES. Incredible locations, artwork, and music.

Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, a very solid game for its time, with a mdeiocre Light/Dark Side choice, but the Multiplayer was Superb.

Right now, the only one I can think of is Voodoo Vince on the XBox.
I got it in 2005, and I wish I could still play it.

The Thing, for the PS2.

Awesome movie, awesome game. Did a couple of really original gameplay experimentations (for its time) and was promptly forgotten by everyone, but to me, it's still one of the best survival-horror games of its generation, with a perfect balance between survival AND horror.

Sanitarium, Darkstone, Warcraft (not World of Warcraft,) Dungeon Keeper, Raptor: Call of Shadows, Myst, Dark Cloud, Beatmania, Bulletwitch, Archon, Super Mario RPG, Comic Zone and the Tiger R-Zone and everything made for it (although I can forgive people forgetting that thing.)

Legend of Kyrandia, an adventure by Westwood I've played extensively in my early childhood. No, seeing the protagonist die horrible deaths every 5 meters did not my affect my 5 year old mind at all :D
Day of the Tentacle. Another game I've played in my early childhood. I'll keep it brief: I loved this one to death. Best game EVAR, and you should kill yourself if you disagree (or play it an be converted)
Homeworld 2. Bloody hell, this was difficult, but I have yet to find a game that makes commanding an armada of spaceships more realistic (by sci-fi standards anyway). Plus it reminds me of Ender's Game, another plus.
Master of Orion 3. I'm playing it right now, and while it is by no means as fun as the first two, it is pretty damn good. Well, bugs and stupid AI aside, of course.
Freelancer. Space-fucking-sims. When will you once again grace us with your most marvelous environments?
Diablo. I know most know the sequel, but the first one is actually pretty good, even if the character's movement speed is only slightly faster than a crawl.
Warcraft 3 + TFT. With WoW, quite a few people have forgotten this masterpiece. Lamentable, just lamentable...

Also, much thanks to whoever put up the Croc pic. You've made my day!

Psi-Ops. This game had physics-as-a-weapon (in the form of telekinesis) before Half-Life 2 came out, and on top of that you could burn bad guys with pyrokinesis, take over enemies bodies with mind control, make people's heads explode. It had a short but fun single player, good controls, and a training mode to mess around with your powers. Despite all that this game went unnoticed and forgotten.

Metal Arms: Glitch in the System. It was a fantastic, original game, and very few people played it, as far as I know. It also ended on a cliffhanger that was never resolved. I'm still waiting for the sequel.
I actually heard that the company that made that game was bought out by Blizzard. So sadly, there might never be a sequel.

I could be wrong though.

Three games that I absolutely loved come immediately to mind.

Shadow Warrior - A faux-Eastern/bad ninja movie inspired game from the makers of Duke Nukem 3D, this game featured the protagonist Lo Wang and his quest to defeat a corrupt master. It had crude humor and so-bad-they're-funny one-liners like Duke 3D. It was also the first FPS that featured sticky bombs and player-controlled turrets and vehicles.

Blood - A darkly-humorous horror FPS in which you play the cultist Caleb, betrayed by your dark god and out for vengeance. Very graphic for its time and full of references to classic horror movies (such as The Shining and the Evil Dead series).

Blood II: the Chosen - The sequel to Blood, it takes place a hundred years after the original and adds a somewhat better interface to the fun that was Blood. It actually had a bit more narrative than the first and gave Caleb some character growth (going from deranged psycho to deranged anti-hero by the end), and the Nightmare Levels expansion was a hoot as well.

EDIT - Interesting, seems that Warner Brothers owns the rights to Blood at the moment. Maybe I should feel encouraged that someone still has the rights at all. Still, no holding of the breath for a revamp or another sequel.
