Games offer a lotta things, from good stories, to deep strategy, to beautiful graphics. But these days, it feels like one dimension of gaming isn't getting as much attention as before: The sheer roller-coaster aspect of it.
What are some games that offer some great visceral, physical experiences that just can't be duplicated in real life? A few off the top of my head:
Portal - OK, this one's pretty obvious.
Shadow of the Colossus - The experience of climbing on a huge thing and taking it down, in various ways. Awesome.
Cloud - It wasn't perfect, and not even that good, but it was cool flying around for a bit.
Tony Hawk - Unrealistic, and proud of it.
Braid - Time travel. I haven't played it of course, but it looks kick ass.
Alternatively, what some quasi-physical experiences you'd like to see in a game? For example...
Shrinking - Wouldn't it be cool to walk around, and then just willfully shrink yourself to hide or fit into a small hole?
Ability to go through walls - It's kinda like Portal, I supppose, but ya know, it's different.
