Steambot Chronicles for me. An interesting concept and there's SO much to do but the crappy story/characters and the way the various game elements interacted left me with pretty much no motivation to do any of it. Way too much traveling to get things done as well, and it managed to take something as awesome as driving a giant mech with rocket boosters and the ability to jump a bazillion feet in the air through a bustling city and make it boring. The dating mechanic was unintentionally hilarious though. You can pretty much bad mouth them and treat them like crap as much as you want as long as you force feed them plenty of donuts while you're at it. I'm pretty sure I extorted money from them at one point and they still liked me.

Saboteur.

Looked so good. Looked so promising. could have been so good.

And i'm not fussy. It ticked every box (excellent soundtrack, mp40's and tommy guns, old cars, nazis, sandbox) that I am a sucker for. And then promptly pissed all over the game premise. They must have worked hard to ruin such a great idea.

Silent Hill 4 was a really let down. It did immerse from the start, 'cause the idea is great with the whole appartment thing. But it seriously gets annoying all the way through the game and there aren't really puzzles. They literally tell you the puzzles. More like a 'pick-this-up-put-it-there' game.

Far Cry 2.

I think enough has been said about this game already, I don't need to elaborate...

Fallout 3 - Don't know was expecting maybe, fallout? If that game hadn't been named what it was i really feel it would have flopped.

Definitely Spore as well, boring as hell.

I'll have to admit, I found Halo to be a big disappointment. This is likely because I played it almost four years after it's release, but after listening to people worship the game for those four years, I was really let down by the experience.

I've had good luck, but Spore and Dragon Age: Origins were dissapointing (DA:O moreso, but I may give it another chance...)

Also, I didn't buy it but I borrowed Killzone 2 from a buddy and I really dislike the campaign. On the other hand I quite like MW2.

I will probably get hate mail for this but Mass Effect, I might give it another chance since I have more patience now

Final Fantasy XII. That almost killed the franchise to me (almost), and make me realize high scores on the first week are mostly responses to hype.

Two Worlds...had so much potential but killed it all with bland graphics, terrible quest system and horrid voice acting

Haze. The story that they talked up sounded good and I was really looking forward to it. Somewhere along the line they managed to completely stuff it up and released a shooter that was barely average. Why bother talking up the soldiers being drugged into carrying out their missions if you're just going to abandon it after 10 minutes of game time and make the main character Generic Action Hero #4084327?
