I've got my NAMCO compilation for PS2. It's good stuff - great, big, manly pixels, not like the puny little ones we see now. Way more bang for your buck. Bang = pixel size.

Ahh the list could go on... *goes into nostalgic montage*
Now this guy has the right idea! Those were some good times in gaming. Syndicate, Doom, the SNES and some of those games. Friggin' Super Metroid was jaw dropping back in the day. I don't miss those days though - I like to load up a few of my old favorites and play them every now and then. I always wished the developers had allowed you to do more though, and it seems in these days, they can actually allow it. I would love to go back in time and make a kick ass NES game.

Diablo 2, PSO, Castlevania, starcraft, warcraft 1 and 2, KOTOR 1 and 2. I still have and play all of these.
KOTOR's... Kotor makes me happy... not really old, but thats ok. Otherwise I gotta say eternal champions, a fighting game for the genesis, FF X, LoZ: OoT and Super Mario 64. Those were the days and some such nonsense.

Age Of Empires takes me back to my youthful time. I can still remember the Background music in my head.

I just found my copy of the original Prince of Persia. Y'know, the one before Sands of Time where your shadow was one of the boss fights.

Well, the first Sonic Games. Sonic 3 & Knuckles shall always hold a place in my heart, seeing as me and my mate Jay devoted roughly 7-12 hours completing that fully.

Those hours are 7-12 I don't want back. However, don't get me started on Sonic 2. Second-to-last level, and boy, did we burn through some continues.

Oh...X-Com or Syndicate I suppose.
I remember many years ago staying up all night to complete Syndicate. Possibly the first time I have ever been massively disappointed in a game ending.
Heh...definitely a 'Journey is Destination' kind of game. What is that happens in the end? You have a big parade for yourself or something inane like that. It's funny, on some levels that almost seems like a more appropriate ending than most of the ones in games today.

"Congratulations! Your King of S*** Mountain and now there's nothing left to do!"
Hah! Hadn't considered that view actually. In hindsight it becomes quite a subversive ending, perhaps.

I think what really got me was the fact that at the end of the game you get EXACTLY the same "Victory" screen you have seen about 50 times before at the end of each level. Then one line of text and the credits roll. I think even a slightly different victory screen would have appeased me.
