Final Fantasy. Sure, 1-7 were okay but from 8 and on are dreadful. In like four years the bad games will WAAAAAY overweight the old/okay ones. And then boom, the world ends.

WET. I wanted that game to be so much more than it was, but no, I found it to be entirely dreadful.

so basically this is a thread which gives people an excuse to ***** about games they don't like... personally I don't really see the point, everyone likes and hates games, and threads like this only worsen the problem of complaints, fanboyish behaviour and flame wars in The Escapist...

Super Mario Galaxy 2
The upcoming Halo 4

Keep in mind that not all of these are bad games (afterall, how can I judge Halo 4 after one teaser?) I have just listed them here simply for the fact that they have no right to exist at all. For the sequels (and interquel) there was no plot holes to fill, no extra story to tell, so really there was no reason for them to have been made with the exception of
A. Pleasing the fans
B. Making money

Also if someone at Sony decides to make a Legend of Dragoon 2 I will say the same thing about that game because while I loved the first game, it does not need a sequel.
Didn't you see the sequel hook at the end of the Legendary ending for Halo 3? They had to make a Halo 4.

Delta Force Extreme series: some of the most retarded AI in the history of gaming.
World of Warcraft: would save nerds everywhere billions of hours that they have wasted in that game.
Half Life 2: Because of it, we are still waiting on Episode 3
Supreme Commander 2: Shrinking the epicness of the original ruined it.
Final Fantasy: Now with 99% movie, 1% gameplay.

Darksiders. It was just... so... bland. It had no right to exist, not a shred of originality, and art design that was schizophrenic and aesthetically just... ugly. It wasn't a bad game, I just don't see why it got greenlit and produced.

I loved every minute of Mario Galaxy 2. I also resent its very existence. Go figure.

Now,this is a tough question because lots of games that SHOULDN'T have been made actually cause very important things to happen by them being made (i.e. E.T. and Pacman for the Atari causing the video game crash),but if you would ask me in personal preference,I would say Action 52.It was really just a waste of a game,an expensive one too.
I enjoyed both Pacman and ET for the Atari quite a lot. ET was freaking hard but it had a great intro picture, music, and it had a very satisfying ending. Pacman was fun. Sure, it didn't look like the arcade, but it WAS pacman. And it WAS an atari 2600.

KotOR 2.

It was a good game, sure, but it's soul crushingly depressing when you think how much potential it had.

I really want Bioware to come back and re-do KotOR 1 when they're sick of Mass Effect it was such a freakin' awesome game, and I'd love to see a re-imagining of it on even a next gen console.

Well, I'm torn. Half the commenters are naming games that are of a reasonable quality but they seemed not to like it personally for whatever reason (primarily for cash-in, it seems) and the other half are naming games that were probably covered on Angry Video Game Nerd due to their unequivocal awfulness.

So I won't stir a hornet's nest by saying something like WoW because I refuse to do subscription-based gaming or Halo just because I don't play it, because there's nothing really wrong with the games. And I won't waste my time looking to see if Master of Orion 3 or Quest64 has been mentioned yet, and just say, look at the AVGN video catalog. If your game is on there (except his positive review of Mario 3), you should never have made it.

But, if bad games were never made, that would mean we'd never learn from them.

I can't think of many games I really can't stand, but in those cases it's not a "shouldn't have been made" thing. More a should have been made better thing.

CoD: MW.

I liked the game, it's just that its influence was too large and every shooter that came out after it jsut tried to emulate it and did a bad job of it.

Fuck it, I'm not sifting through 5 pages to see if anyone's said this yet.

Metroid: Other M.

It ruined everything... Everything.
I did, post 57. I think everyone's ignoring us for fear that it'll stir up another debate about the whole damned thing again.

All thought I can partially agree with you on this. I wouldn't say it's a game I wouldn't have wanted to be ever made. I no loads of people that have on that game, and I'm one of them. :3

This guy on the other hand, I can agree with completely. Although I never personally owned the game I did play it a lot whilst I was around friends houses and I can say that it's a horrible game. I don't have any idea what they were trying to prove with it, apart from "look out how edgy and dark shadow is". :/
