Have you ever played a game that got you interested in something that you previously didn't care for? For example after playing Fallout 3 I found myself taking a liking to 50's music. What about you guys?

I agree with you about Fallout 3. I adore the GNR soundtrack like no other. Bioshock only strengthened my love for that genre of music. (I'm not positive, but I think that most of the songs from Fallout 3 were from the 30's and 40's.)

When playing Fable 2 I realized how often melee combat is screwed up in games because of how fluent and awesome Fable 2's is.

I firmly believed that online multiplayer was stupid, dull and just a place for losers to waste their time proving to other losers how much more of a loser they are.
Then Team Fortress 2 came along. I still kinda think that, but now I'm one of the losers.

Newgrounds.com (technically not a game, but I mean come on) opened me up to indie games. Also, the Awesome series. So awesome.

Red Dead Redemption kinda rekindled my love for Western things. I wear a cowboy hat about sometimes.

Also made me feel more responsible for my future. Nothing's gonna land in my lap and turn me into a better person. I have to work for myself. By which I mean kill LOTS of outlaws.

Metroid Prime really got me into Game Art.
The Environments, Creatures, and Powers were so well done i love looking up the Art Styles used in different games.

BlazBlue got me interested in chasing people down with a sword and stabbing them repeatedly while talking to myself.
Other then that the music in Fallout 3.

Castlevania got me hooked on Retro-side scroller-exploration based RPGs (To bad there are almost none)

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. with Chernobyl. I never even knew what it was before that game... And... erm... that's about all I can think of at the moment...

half life 2 really showed me how good games can be and how worth it it was to be a gamer.

Fallout got me interested in apocalypse stuff.
Halo got me into "shoot aliens with machine guns" games.
