And then there's EVE Online. Never has the awe and splendour of spreadsheets found such an unlikely champion amongst so many.
As a five year long player, cannot agree more. Unfortunatly none of us can explain the phenomenon (no IE7 does not have a spellcheck).

I am a FF fan, but Final Fantasy VII. More because I played FF's I through VI first, but FFVII is not the God it supposedly is. FFVII was worse though. I liked FFIX and FFX.

Id have to say
1. Halo 2 & 3 - I liked halo 1. The story and gameplay were good. Not "god-like" but good. I don't know how ANYONE could give such a high raiting to ANY console FPS. To all you who have never played a shooter on PC, do it, it will change your mind about playing halo for hours on end. Console shooters have a skewed skill level. It's mainly aim remotely close and hope your cone of fire is better than the other guy's. That's why msoft decided to gimp PC players in the platform spanning "shadowrun" failure, had they not I would have bought it for the pc simply to get my jollies off wiping the floor with the console players.

2. All FF games after 7 - 8 was alright except for the stupid card games. The rest I started but never finished. Honestly I think I may have grown out of that series except I play the North American release of FF3 on my SNES from time to time.

3. The sims - I just dont see the point. I don't find it amusing to be a DM for a game of barbie and ken. It's like when you played house with the neighbor girl when you were young just in hopes that she would "like" you.

Halo - Too overhyped and annoying that MC is teh 1337 shits :p

Halflife (all of it) - Head crabs is a total rip of The Thing and you all know it, also the so called "big battles" is a piece of shite.

Counterstrike - Feel liking being headshotted from across the map by a guy with a handgun several dozen times a day or being blown to shreds by a grenade with a flight plan that even Tiger Woods would have a hard time replicating?

WoW - Grind. Grind. Grind. Must I say more?

KOTOR - I'm a jedi! Weee! Omg it's Darth Vader! *zzzzzp* You Are Dead. Respawn?

War Games - ...now it's time to make hundreds of thousands of people's war experiences into a joke! Oh yah! War is a game! That's why grandpa only has one leg!

Paraody Games - If I have to say anymore than the genre then you need to get out more.

Final Fantasy X-II - It's a japanese 3d barby game. Never did understand that how a bikini grants more armor than actual...I don't know REAL ARMOR?

All the halo's, the people that I started playing it with for the first time where all experts and it completely sucked the fun out of it for me.

As usual for these types of things, the explanation is simple: Magic!

Halo I never hated but never really liked either. I would have to say... the Need for Speed series of games was a bunch of crap. Wow by a long shot is the WORST! And uhh... Fable turned into a disappointment for me.

I don't know but for me: considering that their have been movies made of things similar to every single one of these games I just mentioned, I have to say that I like the movies better.

Halo. Only thing I liked about it was that it was one of the few games at the time to have co-op. Single player was utter mince.

Thank god PC FPS's are being ported to consoles nowadays, that's all I can say.

Zelda series.
I tried, I really tried to play them and try and understand the appeal, but they are so excruciatingly long, pointless, fun for about 2 hours max, and I HATE the damn boomerang.
Dumb reasons, but it just never grew on me.

CoD 4.

It's not a bad game, but it's incredibly overrated. Seriously, just about all of my mates seem to spend most of their free time on Live, and this is the only game they play. It's not that good. And since when has raising your weapon to eye-level automatically targeted it?

Resi 4 here. Opening village bits? More or less great, but as soon as we run off to the castle it's dull corridors and irratating enemies ahoy. Plus the good guys are so astonishingly bland that it becomes one of *those* kinds of games where you deliberately get everyone killed as creatively as possible, which here meant utilzing an admittedly AWESOME feature: ridiculously over-the-top death scenes. Gorgeous ^_^
