I've done a couple posts so far, and alot of them deal with the word NEED in relation to gaming.

What games do we NEED to be made, games that will move us forward, change our steps to leaps.

If you could create a game that you feel would revolutionize the world of gaming, like the Matrix did for action films, what would you create? What do you think the industry NEEDS to hook all the Unrepresented?

I'll start. Wild West RPG, totally customizable and buidable guns, Customize you clothes, your horse, your saddle, your home, make a town, be sheriff, rob a bank, break a town, hunt a sheriff.

Be an indian, be a chinaman, be a mexican, be a cowboy, be a rancher, be a miner, be a civil war soldier, dessert, get shot, shoot people, own a plantation, assassinate the president. I mean it. A western world and everything happens around you. i think we NEED this game. if made well, revolution!

We don't need new games. We need our current games in virtual reality. Like Matrix style virtual reality.

A psychological horror game where there is no attack button.

A martial arts game focused on realism.

A Mafia style game where you play as the cops.

If these games exist please point me in the right direction.

Yeah, but Dead Frontier isn't that great. I'll admit it's the real time Urban Dead I was looking for, but a nice 3D game with location shooting would be amaaaaaaazing...

Nothing is needed, only desperately wanted.
Ok, yea, i get that, but read where i specify the meaning of the word need.

If it moves something forward, its as needed as something can be.

That said, new idea.

A game where all the people are replaced by cars. Imagine your favorite game, only instead of Niko, or mario, or master chief, a beat up old station wagon. You can do everything your favorite hero can, only... your a car.

You want a metal spike rammed into the back of your head?

And on topic: a Chrono Trigger remake.

A new Zelda. With focus on character development.
Twilight Princess was pretty heavy on Midna's character development, I thought, which was nice. I agree with you there. Made me hate her in the start and love her by the end.

I think the gaming industry could really use a game that uses strong literary devices that are seen repeatedly in classic literature. Stories that take influence from, say, Margaret Atwood, or Ayn Rand. Games that use heavy symbolism, important themes, plenty of character development, as is just overall well written.

As much as I liked Mass Effect, it did NOTHING for the literary merit of video games- something that games, sadly, have virtually none of. I haven't met one game story that truly touched me, and made me think, in the same way that, say, Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead has.

Which really, really sucks.

Also Assassins Creed, but you play as a fucking Ninja in Fuedal Japan.
I had this exact idea in another post. I want to play as a REAL ninja damn it!! Ryu Hayabusa can go fuck himself!!!

OP: The zombie MMO sounds like a great idea. I would suggest either a Poke'mon MMORPG (You know it would be fun) or a survival/horror game with "The Shining" type imagery.
