Are there any games in particular you are just really bad at? For me it would have to be street fighter. Any street fighter game even against the a.i. on medium is a challenge. Its like I cannot even understand the basic mechanics of the game. Its probably the only game I have ever played aside from total war: shogun 2 that i just dont get at all. Anyone else have a game like this?

Pretty much the entirety of the fighting game and real-time strategy genres.

While I like to think I'm generally not all that terrible at twitch-skill games, my brain just can't seem to process enough APM to 'properly' learn the mechanics of those two genres.

I can get pretty bad at logic puzzles too, since it's not uncommon for me to end up overthinking them to the point of overlooking basic mechanics that would solve them.

Aside from the exception of Sigma Star Saga, I'm rather bad at Shoot 'Em Ups. Really any game that has some element of, one hit and you die, throws me off quite a bit. It doesn't help that a lot of them don't have much of a story which is usually something I can use to motivate me to finish hard games (Only reason I kept playing Devil Survivor and even then I gave up because of Babel and PTSD from it).

I was terrible at Papers, Please. My whole family was sick, cold and hungry. I'm the worst. :(

I'm no good stealth games. Or rather, I'm no good at playing stealth games the way they WANT me to play them.

Like any game that involves strategy.

Or numbers.

Or remembering things.

Or pretending to talk to people...

Pretty good at Castle Crashers though.

Rhythm based games.

Ask me to play even the easiest song in Guitar Hero, not a chance.

Games that require skill or memorisation that I dont practice at so basically most competitive games and ridiculously hard platformers or rhythm action games.

If you practice though there will be no game you will be terrible at unless the game is broken ofc.

Oh I am also terrible at games with tank controls for walking characters mainly because I hate the scheme and so dont persevere with it.

"Serious" racing games, as in ones with somewhat realistic steering, braking etc. If I can't drift and/or don't have NO2 I don't want to know.
Although I'm good at nfs series until I think it was carbon, and at mario kart.
Other then that I tend to range from good enough to being good enough that I get accused of cheating, usually on shooters but I did get that with tekken 3 as well.

I'm terrible at anything and everything that requires twitch control and lightning-fast reflexes, which means racing games, rhythm-action games, platformers, shooters(I blast through most of those on easy mode because sometimes there's a story I give a shit about) and until I learn how to control my actions in stealth games, I'm pretty bad at those too. In general I'm kinda bad at every game I play, but not bad enough to pout and stop playing. My brother on the other hand? He puts holes through walls when he's sucking, and he's not as bad as I am. I think he's too used to winning.

Most fighting games and every RTS ever made.
Also any racing game that isn't firmly set in "Arcade" land controls wise.

I'm awful at fighting games. Even fighting "Very Easy" level AI makes me snap my controller in frustration.

1 on 1 fighters that is. I kick ass at Smash Bros.

Age of Empires-styled RTS games. I enjoy them, but they're just too complex for me. I'm not quick enough or smart enough to play those efficiently.

Anything that's designed to be learned via trial-and-error. Like games where you have to click on every pixel to find the one that advances the plot.

Oh, and most fighting games. I'm not awful at Tekken, but I grew up with it. Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and most of the others feel really clunky, like a series of quicktime-event style premade actions strung together.

Strange, since the latest versions of Street Fighter all come with tutorials these days. Are you just jumping straight into arcade mode without so much as a clue how to throw a hadoken? Then yeah that's a one-way trip to frustration-land. Here's what you do. Go into the game's trial/challenge mode, which teaches you all the basic moves and bread-and-butter combos, along with some intermediate stuff like focus attacks, dash cancels, super cancels, and very basic link combos.

Also, nothing beats practicing against human opponents. It forces you to adapt, to learn. So host a fighting game party with your friends, make sure at least one of them is very competent and patient, so that he can tell you if you're doing something wrong and guide you. Be sure to learn though, as nothing frustrates competent players like a scrub who simply won't learn. He'll either snap at you, or worse, simply give up, get bored, and walk away.

As for games that I'm terrible at, it's RTS and everything that springs from it, including all forms of MOBA.

Pretty much every game ever. I suck at shooters, and it took me 30 hours to finish darksiders, even though i was going through it with the walkthrough becuase i found the puzzles mind booglingly stupid. Sometimes i dont know why i bother...

Twitch shooters. Things like Call of Duty.

I just plain don't have the reflexes necessary to be good at it. If you didn't die in one or two shots, maybe I could be decent. But as it stands I'm godawful.

Also, pretty much every fighter that isn't Tekken. And even then, I'm not that great at Tekken either.
