I think some of us at least have afew games that fit in that category.
Now, normally I don't like strategy games, mainly I think because I'm a console player and I'm used to the simplicity of doing things by myself (just as I am in real life).
But Sid Meier's Civilization games were the only exception to this thus far, particularly Civilization Revolution, why? I'm not really sure, maybe it's 'cause in those games you're running a sovereign goverment, not just a military, which expands on the amount of stuff you can do, feels almost like the strategy equilvilent of a sandbox game.
I mainly enjoy Civilization Revolution the most, I think because it's more user-friendly compared to the other Civilization games I've played, making it somewhat easier to enjoy while still keeping the feel of the Civilization games (being one of the few console ports of the game, obviously).
There are also sports games, which usually don't appeal to me, however, the Mario Sports games were an exception to this, why? they have that Mario twist to them that the Mario Kart francise has, after all, who doesn't want to play a round of baseball where you can pitch a fireball? in a video game I mean.
