I don't hate Skyrim but I found it awfully boring. I couldn't stand more than a few hours. It wasn't very fun and it didn't even have the cheese that oblivion had and it was even more "streamlined".

Judging from the circlejerk that took place after launch, I'm in the very small minority.

EDIT Your username.

why...?
ninja me will you....

you know what my problem with the few bethedesa games Ive played it?...its like they just don't [i/]get[/i] it

like they think its enough to just stick you in a big world and say "here you go, your playing an RPG now" and for some it is, but for me it really isnt

to try and explain...I recently dusted off Fallout 3 and while I like that game and think its a million times better than oblivion (*hurk!*) I noticed some of those old bethedesa things creeping in

like the minute I step out of the vault and enter megaton...everyones more than willing to get me to do jobs/run their errands when it makes no logical sense other than "well...your the PC arnt you? and this is an RPG?" for crying out loud I'm fresh out of a vault and already discussing disarming megatons bomb....I mean its like they have the basic parts for an RPG but don't bother fitting them together

compared to Fallout NV on the otherhand...everything makes sense and gels together, the side quests are all conected to the grand scheme of things (not to mention the charachters are better) THAT is a shining example on how to make an RPG... and it makes sense for my charachter to do all thease things
I have to agree with you on the whole bethesda thing. They can make big interesting worlds filled with stuff to do and a lot of them are fun games. But they can't write for shit is what it basically comes down to. Which is a shame, because as obsidian demonstrated with new vegas, if you do have good writing in a open world sandbox type bethesda game, it's really damn good.

Which brings me to what I wanted to say, which is that your avatar is fucking awesome. I think I am jealous.

Gears of War, it plays so strange (to me, dunno why)
Kingdom Hearts, just because of the fanbase, though....the games suck pretty bad too.
Mario Kart, a game which relies heavily on luck rather than skill is no game, that's gambling.

Hitman and Assassins Creed.

Now, in fairness, I only played the first of each series, but I just thought they were garbage.
The first games of those series were garbage. They got better, I think.

I don't have any games I hate, more just do not like. Every COD game after the first MW (which for me was average) I feel has been severely over-hyped for what is little more than a few patch jobs and some copy pasted maps.

I also take offence with FF XIII which in my opinion was just awful in terms of story and gameplay.

I also hated Final Fantasy XIII; I hated pretty much every character. And the story was horrible, partly because they start it In Medias Res and dump need-to-know information into the glossary and expect you to read it instead of weaving the need-to-know information into the narrative. FF13 looked great and sounded great, but I just couldn't get over the bad characters and story.
Wait, people actually LIKED FF XIII? 0o I mean, don't get me wrong it wasn't the worst game in the series (That honor belongs to FF XII) but last i checked it wasn't all that well liked by either by most others. Myself included.

Once again "hate" is far too strong word, but a lot of games have "meh" reaction from me

CoD and recent BF
I don't care for present military setting
Only BF2142 got my attention (one word: Titan)
Anyway I prefer futuristic setting for my FPS
(Still Halo isn't my cup of tee)

Dragon Age O&2 (why they skipped DA1?)
I prefer Witcher series (while Bioware pretends to have balls, CD Projekt have balls)

Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo
Warcraft and Diablo- because I find these settings boring
Starcraft- because I find Warhammer 40K games far better
(also Warcraft and Starcraft- while I can tolerate knockoff, knockoff of the knockoff is simply too much)

Well, that's what I'm told, but in truth, those two made such a bad impression on me, that I have no motivation to play their sequels.
Yeah...I can't really blame you for that.

Call of duty #insert military cool name here#

I just find the whole COD series... Dull : / and full of pseudo manly bullshit, the multiplayer imho leaves alot to be desired. Also the mass following it has now they are at a point where they can repackage the game give as much content as an expansion or DLC and people lap it up, why? :(

Also World ends with you, as JRPGs on the DS go its just bad :/.

Kingdom hearts... i just could never get over the disney characters... i'm sorry thats just not my cup of tea.

The GTA series. Seriously, F that sh*t! They try to do so much and they fail at everything. It's mind numbing how you can suck at so many things at once.

Borderlands. Borderlands Borderlands Borderlands.
Borderlands.
Borderlands.

Borderlands.

[sub]borderlands.[/sub]

I've owned it twice, and liked it neither times.
I bought it, played it, got bored really, really quickly; sold it.

Then a year later I bought it again with the Expansion packs, to play purely cooperatively online and offline, always with friends... and sold it before completion again.

Give me any RPG or MMO, and I'd enjoy it. Give me any Co-op game, and I'm 99% likely to enjoy it. I just hated Borderlands and I can't quite put my finger on it. I think it just felt tacky.

Actually, I hated Dead Island too - for the same reason. Just felt tacky. I got lost, saw the same zombie 3 times in the same pose at the same spot when I walked passed looking for the objective; so I turned it off and gave it away.

Oh, I shouldn't forget to mention Diablo, Devil May Cry and Final Fantasy games too.

Top-down is a less entertaining format for me; hack-and-slash grew repetitive and mundane, fast; and I just found them all moderately boring (except FFVII, that was tolerable) - respectively.

any pokemon game that isnt red (people blame COD for releasing the same crap every year. Pokemon does it with every generation releasing 2 almost identical games, then a third one the year afterward)
Any MMO
any DOTA/LOL type game
any kingdom hearts game after 1
starcraft 2 and diablo 3
Gears of war series
Assassins Creed 1
halo CE:A (the same game ive already been playing for the last ten years but with a HD texture patch that looks like crap)

something else controversial (at least on this website) i like COD, Battlefield 3 and i like the looks of the new Devil May Cry game.

hence why all the praise for Skyrim annoyed me, I mean I'm glad skyrim exists because it bucks industry trends but I felt it was getting free passes for things, I don;t think the writing is that awful, I think it just requires a little more effort

Recently, Max Payne 3.

That game is just a fucking abortion.

And if I only had an issue with the horrible, obnoxious, overly gritty story, or Max's retarded decision making skills and whiny attitude, I could notch that up as personal preference. But the gameplay itself is just a mess, with unskippable cutscenes, cutscenes that thrust you into a gunbattle for no fucking reason, changing my equiped weapon during cutscenes, and a shitty cover system.

How this game gets a free pass from fans I have no idea.

Braid. I really don't get what everyone sees in it -- it's Mario with a shoehorned in reversal mechanic. All flash and no substance.
I thought the ending was pretty brilliant. Nothing Mario could've pulled off.

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.

Hated the fact that when you're out and about, other gang members would try to invade your 'hood'

Hated the fact that they glamorized being 'gangsta'

Hated the fact that when you take over the entire area, hoping that would end the whole other gang member's silly antics, shit hits the fan and you have to start all over again.

The Half-Life Series and the The Witcher 2 both come to mind. Those games are shit.

Edit: This too

The cover system just ruins the entire game. I don't WANT to sit behind chest-high walls, but if I don't, I'll just get slaughtered, since the enemies all have amazing aim and you only get a few seconds worth of bullet time per fight, and even diving costs bullet time now. The entire game has just strengthened my belief that the series should have ended with the second game, because that was a brilliant game with a brilliant ending.

Final Fantasy games(i hate the combat)

CoD, Halo, Gears of war, assasins creed(generic FPS and a game where everytime i jump off the highest building into a haystack and survive i just rage inside a bit)

League of Legends, no point in playin a gimmicky shallow game that attracts every possible demographic when i play dota
