I bought and sold (in disgust) the Resident Evil remake on gamecube at least 3 times before I finally realized how to play. It is now one of my favorite games of all time.

I hated bioshock at first too. I love it now though.

Assassin's Creed

I was used to run in and kill everything games, the idea of finding out where patrols would be bored the hell out of me, so played the first city then left it. Six months later I ran out of games to play and no cash to buy new ones, dug it back out and gave it it's dues.

Am now in love with the AC games.

Okay, there's Metal Gear Solid 3 (now one of my fav 5 games), Portal (now one of my fav 5 games), Bioshock (now one of my fav 10 games), and Metal Gear Solid 4 (still hate it more than Satan).

FF XI was mine... but I'm not a fan of MMOs.

As for normal games, I think Resident Evil 5 would be the latest one I can think of. The game itself wasn't bad. I even liked what little of the story I saw. It's just that god awful forced two-player gameplay that got to me. I play single player because of just that, I like to play on my own. I don't want some other character getting in the way of my shots, using all my ammo and then whining about getting beat up because the AI is so terrible. Worst part is that if I don't bother going off to save her, it's a game over. It's a major handicap on me as I have to waste time and healing item to protect this stupid bint who can't even aim right. [/rant]
