Mass Effect 2, I made a post about it a little while ago on here. I just can't finish it, I wanted an RPG, if I wanted a shooter I would've bought a real shooter.

Kane and Lynch: Dog days
Got it for like a fiver when I picked up a new xbox because my old one broke.
Have about 20-30 mins play time on it. It disgusts me to say I own it.

I don't think I ever finished FF VIII due to the last boss being a *****, but I did enjoy it.
FFXII because I tried to speed through it with 0 grinding, and am stuck on a boss near the end and I can't be bothered to run round killing enemies for god knows how long.

I started Final Fantasy IV, VI, VII, VIII, X, XII, and XIII and out of all of them only managed to finish X. It's a tough and time consuming series for me. I still really like them.

On the flipside, I did manage to finish MW2, but it was a slow and excruciating process. The singleplayer was really annoying with a really bad plot and main characters that you weren't attached to because they died every few levels. Garbage.

Prototype. I really wanted to love it, but the execution was really bad and the most interesting mechanic was the Web of Intrigue, but a lot of the snippets you got were pretty meaningless. Also, halfway through the game when half the NY is infected, chasing a Web of Intrigue target is a pain.

I have a rather large backlog of games

Castlevania Order of Ecclesia (Those bosses, THOSE BOSSES!)
Final Fantasy IV (Mother fucking Dark Elf)
Bioshock (Too nerve wracking for me at the time)
New Vegas Expansion Packs (I don't have the money)
Grand Theft Auto IV (I'm really on and off with that game, I'm pretty sure I'm close to the end but I can't stop raging when I die seconds before the end of the missions)
Prince of Persia series (Yeah.)
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (I lost it)
Arkham Asylum (Same as Brotherhood)
Link's Awakening (I'm working on it)
Dragon Age: Awakening (Too busy with New Vegas)
Pokemon Black (I feel weird playing it on my 3DS, take that as you will)

That's all I can think of right now.

Out of curiosity, what's your thought on Victory studios? Rumor has it that they are going to *try* and make a new C&C and do it right. I too enjoyed C&C 3, it won't live up to Westwood's standards but I didn't expect it too. Honestly I expected EA to defecate all over it, but I feel that they did as good as not-Westwood could have done with the game. I even liked RA3 for all it's quirks though it probably should have served as a warning that EA was playing with the formula in the wrong ways.

Oh, also - American McGee's Grimm. I may be cheating since it was episodic and I did finish an episode or two, but I didn't finish the whole series. I liked the art, the weirdo humour, all that stuff - it's just that the gameplay was entertaining for 5 minutes at the most and ultimately I just ended up watching the cliff-notes versions on YouTube for later episodes.
Victory Studios is just another branch of EA designed specifically to take over Command & Conquer, so I'm not exactly giddy with anticipation. Still, I might pick up the first game it makes to see how it is, though. Like I said, I liked Command & Conquer 3 and Kane's Wrath a lot. But I'll need confirmation ahead of time that they're ditching that terrible, horrible, awful "building" system. No way I'm going to dump $50 on another C&C4.

Just Cause 2.

People tell me that it's a crazy fun action open world game... and yet the tutorial was so boring, I never bothered with the rest of the game.
I'd highly advise finishing the tutorial, once you get past that and the world opens up you can easily get dragged in (via tow cable).

Deus Ex. It just couldn't get into it.

I'd normally run away after saying such a thing, but I think I've just caused everyone to start installing the game again, which makes them too busy to hunt me down. :p
Eh, don't worry about it, after listening to people recommend it so highly I gave it a try and just couldn't get into it. Apparently theres some group working on a mod to up the graphics to around Half life 2 levels. If that ever gets released it might inspire me to give it another try.

Fallout 3. I had a sudden urge to play it, but after a two-week run I just stopped. It's actually been two weeks since I've been anywhere near my 360 because I've pretty much played every game on that system half-to-death.

Been playing a lot of Super Nintendo, though.

Well, I've never beaten a Touhou game. Not out of frustration or annoyance, but because I suck, you see. Still got all 6 main PC ones on my harddrive though.

Yeah, I know that Victory is just a branch of EA - but the fact that they put it together shows that they are confident enough to make more, and I don't know a single C&C fan who would shell out for another C&C4 so lets hope that EA takes note and *tries* to make a better C&C game.

Zeno clash because... well... A first person fighting game where the very first level has instant death pits is a great way to make a player say "fuck this."
What are you talking about? The first level (after the tutorial) in Zeno Clash had no instant death pits whatsoever. In fact the only death pits in the game are the patches of fog near the edge of the world, and even those don't take effect instantly. So, I have no idea what you're talking about. Maybe you hit some weird glitch.

More on Topic: Duke Nukem Forever because it was such an anti-thematic piece of shit. The only thing that game does well is the dicking around. Once that ended the game fell apart really fast.

Quest 64 because it was a simplified stripped bare RPG (the fucking game didn't even have a money or bartering system.) I remember liking it as a small child because it was pretty much unfinished and thus accessible to five-year-olds. It was the only bad purchasing decision I made based on nostalgia. Good thing I only lost $5 bucks.

Wow, I always knew I was lackluster at fighting games but I guess I'm so bad that the game itself just decides to end me.

All the final fantasy games, they don't disgust me it just becomes a relentless grind somewhere in the second act and i can't see where I'm headed or why I'm going this direction...

Saint row 2's PC port disgusted me to the point where i stopped playing. that was because the PC port controls made it unplayable, but it still counts.

I never finished ocarina of time. 2 reasons or this. reason/excuse 1 i never got a chance to. I never had an N64, my dad was all about the future at the time and saw the winds shifting towards CDs so i got a PlayStation in those times. then i got a GameCube and pre-ordered wind waker, and wouldn't you know it i got OoT. however this copy was suppose to be lent to a friend for like 2 days so he could check out master quest. however his house burglarized and my copy along with his game collection got stolen. So never had enough time to play the game through enough. I suppose i could get for my wii virtual arcade but that brings me to reason 2. OoT is in my opinion a long game. And after the water temple i start getting tired of it. i don't think its needs to be dumbed down or shortened i still recognize as a great game and what i do play i enjoy, it's just it would take me a long time to play this all the way through...

I have the most obscene adult ADD. I love & enjoy playing & replaying games, but I very rarely play them all the way though before I start playing something else.

Right now I'm reinstalling a game, eating dinner, working on a sudoku puzzle, listening to a review, & watching glitch videos on youtube while thinking about the book I read last night.

Baldur's Gate for the PC. I bought this a few months ago when it went on sale on GOG.com. That first cutscene when you launch the game is a masterpiece, and got me really excited to play the game. But, as I got a few hours into it, I lost interest and have not yet finished it. If I can figure out how to transfer save files to my new PC, I'll probably start playing it again!

At 5 I was still trying to figure out how to open that door in the forest at level 20 or so. Got stuck there.

In general I have a bad habit of not finishing games. See, I don't feel right if there aren't at least half a dozen games I'm playing that I haven't finished. It's so sad when you get 100% completion on a good game.

There are a few games I know I will never finish or go back to playing again. "Heavy Rain" is the most recent one I can think of. I get enough of those pointless decisions I hate making in real life, I don't need a game to emulate them, I play games to escape doing that.

Enchanted arms...... just all around bad....
I've tried to finish that game a few times. It's just so boring. A battle every step you take, identical to the last battle. And characters are so limited in moves, if you try mixing it up you'll likely be less effective to the point where you'll die.

And I really like Penny Arcade!'s defense for the game too: http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2006/9/6/ But I just cannot play this game, its painful.

Final Fantasy VIII - Just could not get into it. At all. IDK why. Love 7, 9, X, X-2... Hate 8.

Star Ocean III: Till The End of Time - One of the worst games I ever tried to play, frankly.
FF12 sits almost beaten with no desire for me to continue. Though with gambits, I could probably just leave the game on with forward button taped down and the game would beat itself.

"Till the End of Time" is very appropriately named for how freaken long that game is. It was advertised at having 90 hours of main story, and damn they weren't lying, if anything that is an understatement. My least favorite Star Ocean game, far simpler than other games and a lot of bad cutscenes that are also unskippable. There is an interesting story in there, just takes way too long to tell the interesting parts. It was the first game to ever have Trophies, predating achievements, but getting all 255 takes even longer than forever -you have to beat the game a minimum of 3 times and usually that's not enough to collect all of them. ...so yah, can't blame you for quiting while you were ahead. It's better than FF8, but not as short.
