Sword of Sodan for Sega Genesis. Yeah, its bad. Like, really bad. But I like it. Why? I dunno, I thought the blood was hysterical at the time, especially when you chop off the giants heads and they make that gross guttural sound as their head rolls across the ground.

I'm mildly ashamed to say that I believe DA2's combat is better than Origins. Everything else besides the combat mechanics is either only occasionally amusing or sleep-inducing, though.

Also Skyrim. I'm not necessarily ashamed because the game is unpopular, but because I find the game guilty of most all of the problems that I particularly don't like about the industry yet it managed to suck ~200 hours of my life out of me. (Also when I played Skyrim, I wasn't really "playing Skyrim". I was basically downloading a bunch of armor/house/companion mods and playing High Fantasy Dress-Up most of the time)

I'm not ashamed of liking anything, i might enjoy some things that are disliked by the general public, but the general public tends to have questionable taste, so who cares what they think. :p.
For instance i think Ridge Racer 7 is one of the best driving games on the ps3 and i think Genji is pretty good, i probably won't be able to convince anybody because they are supposed to suck, but that's their less, not mine. Oh and i like Dragon Age 2 more than Dragon Age 1, it's not as drab and boring though the combat system could be better.

Games I'm ashamed of liking: None!
Games that I like that makes others ashamed to know me by comparison: Several... (Most of them sex-related...)

Overall, I have no regrets either way... (#foreshadow?)

I wouldn't say I'm ashamed, I like many a game on here that I'm sure others wouldn't like, RTS games for example.

But yeah Fable II will always have a soft spot in my heart because it was the first game I'd bought with my first 360 those years ago, it's combat was somewhat flexible and satisfying, the story to me felt a little watered down but I still loved the setting, sthe story and characters like Reaver, the DLC also kept me entertained for at least a month.

I'd also like to mention Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City, for the bugs that it had and the tacked on multiplayer, it still felt fun for me and a friend who played co-op with me and we talked for hours about how great it was to finally be back to where it all started (besides the Arklay facility), Raccoon City. I always loved playing as Beltway because he was more the demolitions expert and I love his neck breaking execution move, the 3rd person camera controls and overall movements felt natural and not as annoying as the time I'd suffered in Resi 4-6.

I really wish that Capcom would just go back to Raccoon City though, there was still so much to learn from the city and it's inhabitants before it was wiped clean off the earth and it always had that nice creepy "you're all alone" vibe, maybe a slight open world Resident Evil would be nice, to be able to explore Raccoon city by yourself with all sorts of puzzles to complete but the game isn't a on rails corridor shooter.

Ahem, excuse me... it's just my cold. I will never admit to anyone in real life that I also read R-18 visual novels, for the plot, I'm serious.
And casual games too, but that's not shameful.
I wonder what it says about my taste in games that I completely believe you on that?

OT: While I'm not exactly "ashamed" of any games I play, there are some that I would never bring up outside the internet. In real life, I at least have the excuse that I want to be a game designer, so people expect me to play a little of everything.

Not ashamed, but I am that guy who likes Too Human.
What is it you liked about it? I'm curious since that was one of the few games I got almost no enjoyment out of. The only reason I finished it was I only owned one other game at the time (Dead Rising) and played it to death.

I felt like I should be ashamed for liking Final Fantasy IX as much as I did.
...Why? It's considered far and wide to be one of the best Final Fantasy games ever.

OT: I can't think of any game I'd be ashamed to say I like. I can only name possible games that other people may be ashamed of... Final Fantasy X-2, Heavy Rain, Bioshock 2... nope, not ashamed of any of them.

*Hi five* I suppose they're bolder, don't just muck around and the developers are free to add whatever they want.

colonial marines...

Yea... But seriously in my eyes what is not to like? Lot's of aliens that you can kill. You can shoot bullets at em. Shoot bullets at barrels that explode at em. Shoot grenades. Kill it! Kill it with FIRE. Muahahaaaa. So yea. I enjoyed colonial marines. Make of that what you will.

I have zero shame about my gaming tastes whatsoever. The only thing I could possibly mention is me really liking The Sims series but I proudly tell anyone that if I'm asked, so yeah.
Agreed!

The soft core Japanese stuff like Dead or alive extreme and samurai bikini squad.

They are not something I bring up in general conversation.

So I am bored, and I like hearing about new games. Preferably in a positive aspect. So! Any games you are ashamed to admit you like? Maybe because it is a traditionally bad game, or it is not your usual style, whatever!

If you are like our lord and savior Jim (Thank God for him!), and have no shame, go for what would've given you pause if you did.

Me? I can without a doubt say that Fable 2 is one of my, if not the, favourite game ever. It has a great world. It is pretty as hell. Music. Gameplay. Voice acting. Story. Absolutely everything hits the exact spot for me.

I shall grant that it is a bit schizophrenic sometimes, and even if I will defend the way Lucies dies with tooth and nail - It is a powerful scene - a last boss would have been nice. Other than the floating traingle of doom that is.

Yeah, Fable 2, is one of the best games ever made. In my subjective(Phew, saved.) opinion.

That is my opinion, and I will fight you over it. Fable 2 is awesome.

So what games do you like, but don't like admiting to liking?
I actually enjoyed fable 2 more than one because it expanded on stuff that the first game had, only complaint I have is that I wanted to see the heroes guild in its prime again

I have no shame, I will always willingly admit I enjoyed the hell out of Dragon Age 2. I've played it a lot more than the first Dragon Age. I love the story, I love the characters and I love the combat.

I also loved the hell out of Silent Hill 4, I loved it more than Silent Hill 1 and a little bit more than 3. I just love how it puts me in a comfort zone and takes it away from me. Some parts of it really made me lose my shit. I don't feel ashamed to admit to it though. I think it's a great game and while some lines are incredibly cheesy and Henry is a bit of a dolt, I think it's worthy of having the Silent Hill name on it.

Oh and Otome Games. I love them. Well, I love the ones that don't have the sickening love triangles in them or someone cheated on someone drama and we are supposed to find them likable kind of bullshit.

I'm sometimes...well, "ashamed" isn't really the right word, but I often avoid mentioning that I love Call of Duty 4. More than just liking it, it is, to me, one of the standout experiences of the 7th gen.

Thing is, I'm usually surrounded by people who don't like CoD and don't even know much about the series as a whole, they just see it for what it has become since MW2. So, when people bash CoD as a whole, I feel compelled to defend CoD4. And when I say that CoD4 is actually an excellent game, I will sometimes get a funny look; I then have to explain that, "No, really, the first Modern Warfare has a legit story with interesting and believable characters and it uses the medium and genre to do really interesting things with the narrative. It explores themes about the delicate nature of safety/security in a world where WMDs exist and actually gave me interesting things to think about regarding modern-day guerrilla warfare." Sometimes they believe me, sometimes they don't.

On another front, when I bring up to CoD fans that I loved CoD4 but don't care for the series going forward from there, they look at me like I'm crazy and tell me that MW2 was a so much better. They are usually saying that for the sake of the multiplayer. [I also think that MW1 was better on the multiplayer front, but that's another issue altogether] This then invokes the "campaign focus vs. multiplayer focus" discussion, and the CoD fans usually won't accept "Single-player is more important to me; multiplayer is more important to you; let's just leave it at that." They inevitably tell me that I should play the current CoD multiplayer and when I say I'm not interested they say that the only reason I'm not interested is because I must suck at the game. Seriously, I've met exactly two CoD fans who don't act like this. Stereotyping of CoD fans is unfair, sure, but anecdotal evidence has shown me that most fans live up to the stereotype.

Anyway...

The whole conversation surrounding my appreciation for CoD4 is usually more of a pain than its worth, so I usually don't bother bringing up that I love the game. That's not really "shame," per se, but I think it's relevant to this thread.

I like Mass Effect 3's original ending better than the extended cut *drops the mic*

Though I'm little ashamed of that.
